What matters more? The product itself OR the distribution of the product?

I used to think the product matters more, but now I have my own product I've changed my mind.

I've started to believe that distribution wins this battle, by a bit but it does. Mainly in the beginning. The truth is that if you're solving a real need, people will adopt a scrappy MVP to address their problem, however, people can't adopt a product they've never heard of.

Yo! Which is more important, the product itself or its distribution—the age-old question? Both are important, but a product cannot shine without a good distribution strategy. Get your product in front of the proper people, and they will promote it for you. 🚀📦

Distribution - even an average product with excellent distribution and marketing can outperform a superior product that lacks visibility.

I have a completely opposite opinion than the majority in the comments. Distribution won't make you successful if your product doesn't have the market-fit. You can send 10000+ cold emails. You can pitch 1000+ people via LinkedIn. You can spend $10000+ dollars on ads, and if your product isn't solving the users' pain, the distribution won't help with acquiring paid users. ;-)

I think, distribution, probably,

For me it’s a 50 for Distribution and 50 for the product. We need to have the product offer the value it’s built for by ensuring it gets to the right users in time. Distribution is important for improvement

Great question! Both the product itself and its distribution are crucial for success in the market. A well-designed and valuable product is the foundation on which everything else stands. However, without effective distribution, even the best product may struggle to reach its target audience. At ProApp, we believe in creating exceptional educational tools (just like ProApp Learn Design) that truly add value to our users' lives. Simultaneously, we understand the importance of reaching as many learners as possible. That's why we've been working hard on both fronts to ensure our edtech application gets into the hands of those who can benefit from it the most. Remember, a fantastic product combined with a strategic distribution approach is the winning formula for success! 😊 By the way, did you know we recently launched ProApp Learn Design on Product Hunt?
