What programming languages will thrive (or die) in an AI-driven future?

by•

AI-generated code is now everywhere, but does that change the relevance of different programming languages?

Will AI make low-code/no-code solutions dominant, reducing the need for traditional coding?

Will AI tools like CodeGeeX or Copilot lead to more abstraction, favoring high-level languages like Python over low-level ones like C++?

Or will AI-driven development increase the demand for more specialized languages in areas like security, quantum computing, and robotics?

Curious to hear what languages you think will thrive and which will fade away.

I see AI pushing more adoption of Python and JavaScript since they're high-level and easy for AI to generate. Low-level languages like C and Rust might be safe, since they require deep optimization.

Will AI even need "programming languages"? What if future AI dev tools abstract coding entirely, and we build software through natural language prompts?

Low-code and no-code platforms like @Bubble and @Retool will take over basic applications, but AI will also increase demand for experts in ML, security, and embedded systems where human oversight is crucial.
