One of the most amusingly ridiculous facts I know is about the banana equivalent dose (BED). It's a way of measuring radiation exposure by comparing it to the radiation received from eating a banana. Bananas contain potassium, and a small fraction of that potassium is the radioactive isotope potassium-40. Due to this, bananas emit a small amount of radiation.
