Feel free to comment and share why you consume the content in the format you prefer - is it easier to understand + comprehend, faster to consume, allows multi-tasking, etc.
These days , my favorite is YouTube especially when I need to see tutorials. I prefer reading when it is important to have more descriptive information.
I may be in a minority, but I don't like video tutorials, udemy courses, etc. When I'm looking for an answer, I can scan text in seconds and find it. When I'm learning, I can read content in my own peace, skipping what I already know, not skipping by 5 seconds to make sure I don't miss anything important.
Text content FTW!
I feel there should be another option called "Depends" Rohan!
Please don't get me wrong here, but if you were to ask me:
I would say different mediums for different types of content. If it is something about life, philosophy etc, I would prefer a "podcast" (Ex:- TRS (The Ranveer Show) )
If it is about education, learning and execution, I would prefer "Video"
If it is news, I would say "infographics"
If it is an emotional story or fictional writing, I would say "Reading"
I feel "Context" is really important for consuming content. Context is the real behavioural trigger for any kind of content :)
I took the liberty to explain it in detail. Thanks for the opportunity Rohan!
Depends on the content.
When I want to learn something for the long run, nothing beats reading + taking notes for me. Notes are written by hand - not typed - either on paper or on my iPad.
When I want to quick dive into something, then video tutorials are my go-to.
I also listen to a lot of stuff, podcast or audiobooks when working out, doing chores, running etc. This is reserved for books and topics that I consume for the fun of it.
I usually prefere outdoor content in short video formats, with cool transitions, and exciting music in the background. It usually gets me going through the day
@rohanchaubey4 nice to see you here :-)
I listen to a ton of audiobooks. Having 2 kids means I don't have much time to sit and read in silence 😂. So I throw my headphones on and take regular walks instead.
I perhaps don't absorb as much content as I would actually reading the paperback, but if something is super interesting I'll listen to it at least twice!
I prefer Reading by and large because I can skim and go back and forth while I try to get a better understanding. For entertainment, I prefer video so I can sit back and enjoy. I think it's a active vs passive consumption preference
Ideally text. However more and more content online is now made on Youtube, so often I have to watch a video - that's why I almost always use the 1.5x or 1.75x speed feature, which comes in super handy.
