Will AI replace SEO?

SEO will not be replaced by AI. AI will be a support fro good SEO strategies but you will still need humas to create those creative ways of ranking pages!

What about when Search changes to an AI-first approach like Perplexity? Then optimization will change too and other criteria may be important than now. I guess I will se some kind of AI-Optimization in a couple of years to make your content attractive to Gen-AI searches.
@haribelafonte07 On the other hand, perplexity will be cherrypicking from SERP and cross-reference an answer. Hence I feel SEO will be more of a dependency to the LLM, right?
It's not possible, unless AI is live like in movies and can see zeptillions of data, analyze, make decisions.

I would be a little hesitant to claim that we do it all, as every tool has different features that could be useful, so it's really up to you to determine usefulless. If SEOs do not update and continue to practice old-school SEO techniques, AI might only affect them. Otherwise, SEO will always be there. Its now a $88.91 billion industry

Isn't it the same thing? Perplexity and ChatGPT Search still use a search engine to gather the top urls (and the LLM summarizes them).
And the only way a page makes it to the "top urls" list is with SEO.

as long as AI can't live in real life , can't see what human see , it's impossible to have the same performance as human . they won't notice and analyze same way as human so it's impossible for AI replace SEO that humans do .
