Will AI take over digital marketing?
Featured

A similar question was asked on a subreddit. Interested to know what ProductHunters think here. What are your opinion regarding usage of AI in content marketing, image generators, strategy planning, or any other digital marketing areas? Do you think AI will be more powerful than human intervention or there will be a boundary?

I think it's all a question of time. At some stage, unless there's human intervention, I think AI will take over a lot. How much of it happens in the next 10 years I'm not so sure. I've been wrong on tech predictions before though. :-)

@sven_radavics well, based on my little experience with github copilot, I can guess it will take over most of the easy to do web dev stuffs in 3-4 years.

I questioned Google and here's what they had to say: https://youtu.be/Yx997SsiYlw?t=1329 (YT video on Google Search Central channel)

@ashrahman Yes. I had this conversation in the start of April. They launched a core update in May that attacked the AI content sites. And in August second attack was launched through Helpful Content update. Many more to come. It's Google versus AI as my questions and John Mueller's answers clears the air.

I think it will compliment human marketing in a large way but I don't think it will dominate the industry

@aaronoleary Which areas do you think will be most affected?

Technology replacing humans... I really don't think ..Long way to go Human brain and touch would always be required

AI can take some of the tasks: Keyword research, discovery and basic content writing People will still have to review: designs, writing and copies :)

@yashthakker I completely agree with this. Even in heavily automated industries like manufacturing, the place of human quality control has never really been eliminated.

I realy think so. Today, nothing can study and improve the UX as well as an AI, this science of UX is the absolute result of Marketing. So, in my opinion, it's like for calculations no brain can give a result as precise and fast as a program.

@fares_aktouf interesting thought! Can you share some UX examples influenced by AI?

AI is beneficial, but digital marketing still relies on imagination, inventiveness, and creativity when connecting with customers. In other words, digital marketing still needs a human touch. It requires storytelling and emotion, which AI has yet to master in the manner required for effective marketing today. The goal of AI is not to replace marketers altogether but to determine how to benefit from AI when it comes to their digital marketing strategy.

AI cannot think on its own. If it can, that would be dangerous for all of us. AI is powerful. I've used many tools and all of them blew my mind. If you know what you want, AI can create something which can be produced by 5+ pro-people in respective fields. AI tools are like hiring a team of pros at a fraction of its cost.
John Alimi
@gaurav_verma10 I agree! "AI tools are like hiring a team of pros at a fraction of its cost". That's what machines do. They make things faster, CHEAPER and arguably better, just like we have seen in other industries like manufacturing.

Instead of taking away, I think that marketing will get better with AI involvement. Marketing is one such area where human emotions come into play. So, I feel Ai might take way the whole marketing. However, Ai will take away repetitive tasks in marketing.

I believe that AI might take over the parts of creating and running a campaign that involve writing, image generation, and other aspects. However, initially the brand would need some human input in deciding on its direction, strategy, and messaging.

I think artificial intelligence will have a positive impact in many areas of science, math and physics, but I don’t see it being helpful in marketing. Leading the charge are those who want to do personalization and predictive modeling. Unlike financial advisors who say “Past performance is no guarantee of future results,” the marketing industry believes that past performance can be replicated or duplicated in the future.

AI is already being used in digital advertisements today. All optimization is done with AI. The human factor is undeniable, especially for creative designs. In the future, I think that we will move forward with a hybrid system to a certain extent. We will live and see.

It won't take over but it can help marketers. Some tools which help in writing and designing can add to your creativity and get better results. Use them wisely, just don't get fully dependent on AI Tools.

I don't think AI will take over digital marketing as a whole. Atleast in the near future. But it will bring insane speed and efficiency in getting things done and probably replace people in the process. Like fewer copywriters, fewer blog writers and so on.

I think we're still a ways away from zero human input required, but — in theory — Ai tech will start improving at an increasing rate. And that's when things get very tricky to pin down. (: Generally, though, I think Ai will have a much larger impact than most people seem to think at the moment.

It depends on how many people learn to express themselves truly; if people awaken and express their purest selves, algorithms can't cluster efficiently. If people choose to follow the masses and stay in the status quo, marketing AI will become king.

Ai Actually does a good job creating a copy for facebook and/or google ads. I generated a lot of copys for my brand but never actually tested them. Do someone here has any exmple of their results using AI?
Jonathan Nass
@paolo_falconi it would be awesome to put Ai copywriting head to head in an A/B test with a FB/Google Ads guru!

It's commonly asked about art as well and I think there is an overlap in how to view AI from a creative perspective. Currently, AI generators can make pretty pictures but art is about more than its imagery. There are nuances that cannot be replicated.

I won't say Taking over but let me put it this way. A new world is opening up for digital marketers, This technology of Generative AI is still in its early stages, but the possibilities for its use in marketing are endless. In the future, generative AI could be used to create entire marketing campaigns from start to finish. For now, however, it is being used to create individual pieces of content, such as images, videos, and articles. Also, AI is capable of generating content that is creative and engaging. The biggest advantage is human creators are limited by their own experiences and biases. This means that they are more likely to create content that is narrower in scope and less inclusive. Generative AI, on the other hand, is not restricted by any human limitations. As such, it can create content that is wider in scope and more inclusive. I hope this helps.

There are lots of things in digital marketing. Email marketing, content marketing, content writing, SEO, SEM, SMM, Growth marketing, growth strategies, and growth hacks. Humans can think logically and work better. I have used AI tools, Not that helpful. We need to think of ideas as per the topic. We digital marketers just engage customers with websites, and content that might be video, audio, or anything. In short: organic digital marketing jobs will not be lost anywhere. Digital marketing is an ocean. Digital marketers have to work with owners, developers, content writers, and UX/UI designers.
