Last fall, we released 100,000 humans that don’t exist. But humans (I mean those that do exist) wanted more representation, more postures, and clothing styles, they wanted to have a hand in creating synthetic people. Well, here we are! Meet Human Generator, a FREE tool that lets you create custom full-body photos of people in a few clicks. What’s more, you can try real faces on generated bodies! How it works - You start with a random human - Choose age, gender, ethnicity, body type, and pose - Adjust hair color and style - Play around with clothes and accessories - Select the perfect background Or upload your face and repeat the above steps. Here are some examples: And here’s me with generated bodies in casual and James Bond styles. Irresistible. Without leaving the couch.

@visualpharm I couldn’t help myself 😁
Ivan Braun
@al_sku looking great. I think you should wear pink from now on, and have a strict diet of cupcakes.
@visualpharm love this tool. It is making me be scared of AI less and love it more. Things I think would make it even more successful, usable and sellable as a tool - - Ability to run multiple copies/poses of the same prompt at once. Instead of having to click the button. This could be a pay feature. Additionally with that maybe it automatically saves to the hard drive or ZIP so you don't have to save the files each time. - more poses without hands & legs, as those are usually generated in a weird way. for example, have someone standing normally with their arms straight and crop it at their stomach. the face, hair & torso generation is pretty much spot on everytime so I would highlight that while everybody works out the kinks on the fingers and elbows. Another example, have the one where the person is sitting and leaning forward, do a cropped copy of that one where it's just torso and above and no forearm or legs shown. The top half of the person always looks great but then the arms and legs turn into a spider. - really need to be able to save/reload a particular person/seed - I see that in your upcoming - I'd be willing to pay for that since you can then use it for characters etc. - Way more control over hair color, length etc. More colors, including weird ones like pink, a length dropdown (in addition to hairstyle type) - Ability to blend multiple pictures together, it looks like right now the face only looks at the one selected face in blue. You can make 1 person more accurate or blend multiple people together. - In browser cropping tool for those pictures that look great except for the pile of arms at the bottom. - Way more control over expressions. Thinking its own dropdown. Again for characters etc, good luck using it in a narrative situation if you can't change the expressions easily and consistently. - Ability to create your own pose from a picture or maybe a wireframe skeleton guy that you could pose. Obviously that would be hard but greatly increase ability to be used. - Ability to save or load created clothes or picture of clothes, again for characters, or maybe you are a fashion designer or game designer and want to see how an item looks on multiple people. Or you really want a character to wear a particular costume. - Different filters, do you want it to look more realistic or more painted. - It could be helpful to have a text box per prompt in addition to the an overall one. So like a text box specifically for eyes and you could type in "big blue-green eyes" and that would help the AI know it was specifically for the eye category. I notice sometimes if you choose a skin color or clothes color the background will change to that color too, the AI is getting confused on the category. Maybe with an expander that says "Advanced" so it doesn't clutter the regular interface I think if you think about it from a TV/game producer, what would they like to have - there's a lot of room for additional features that say a fashion designer or stock photo wouldn't need, but then you are hitting way more demographics which means more press and money etc.

I've been playing with synthetic tech, creating my own digital avatar. Pretty cool to see how advanced character generators have become. :)
Lindsay Davis
@rrhoover aww, thank you! We also played around with your digital avatars and created some...☺️ How do you feel about curly hair? And what about some Gucci floral vibes? 😄🌸
Ivan Braun
@rrhoover Ryan, thanks so much for the kind words, and for Product Hunt. It's enabled millions of projects like this.
Ryan Hoover
@imlindsay the second photo has Garden State vibes
Lindsay Davis
@rrhoover Oh, exactly! 😅

LOL WTF! This was the "person" that was created by default for me. Am I being trolled?? 🤡
Ivan Braun
@chrismessina hahaha you're right, we're detecting open source advocates. We were supposed to use this preset, but I like yours better! Tweak it
Chris Messina

@visualpharm wow, I look like I'm 14 and a cancelled character from The Incredibles! 😂

Human Generator is a great tool to try on new looks, hair colors and styles, and even body types and genders. To help you start, we made a special set of pre-generated humans. Select a template, add your photo, and enjoy!

And those who want to have some fun, hit the Barbie and Cosplay tabs. Barbies, Kens, elves, other cartoon and game characters — they are all there. Here’s Barbie me:
Ivan Braun
@julia_sa this is the most convincing barbie face swap I've seen in my life.

Congrats on the launch Ivan and team! This looks bags of fun!! Definitely going to try in the future. What's the next step for you guys?
Ivan Braun
@ed_forson rework of Mega Creator; the beta is already online, though not launched https://icons8.com/mega-creator Thank you!
Luba Zee
@ed_forson The next step for Human Generator is adding better poses. For instance, these poses would give more natural results for infants: Here are a few test results: And the next BIG step is dressing generated humans to the ready clothes and customizing make up. Here is a sample 🙈 It looks weird, but it's good for tests
Valda
@luba_zee babies are very natural-looking! I think the retailers who sell baby clothes would certainly be after them! I know it's hard to run photoshoots with little ones! Plus, we all remember stories with claims from babies when they grow up and find themselves on an album cover naked, for example 😅
Luba Zee
@valda_bay I surely hope so! Taking pictures of toddlers is a hell of a job! And yeah, not all of them will be happy once they grow up and see those photos as it happened with the boy from Nirvana cover 😣

Since we launched Generated Photos back in 2019, people have been asking us for more diversity, more body types, and more ethnicities because they couldn’t find decent photos of underrepresented groups. Here are just a few of those requests: • “Black people are under-represented in stock photos, it has always been a struggle to find suitable photos for different situations” • “Can you make Chinese and Korean people please?” • “Indian people are so diverse, yet most of the photos on stock websites show just one or two groups of Indians” Finally, we made it and much more.

💡 Bright idea
The results are truly amazing, but can you guys tell me if it's possible to make the background transparent?
Paul Malaj
@ashe_hecarim You can use background remover to make it happen, like this one https://ic8.link/1qe. And it's a great idea, we should think about adding a 'transparent background' feature.
Ivan Braun
@ashe_hecarim I'd use https://icons8.com/mega-creator. Not only you can remove a background, but also pick a new one. This took me like 40 seconds:
Alena Bitton
@julia_kitew, thanks for the idea! Art styles work, and it's cool
Ru Pole
@julia_kitew @alena_b how are you guys doing that? I just get Van Gogh on a tshirt 💀
Alena Bitton
@julia_kitew It's funny. I listed specs, something like: in van gogh painting style, with van gogh style brushstrokes, wearing straw hat, sad, depressed, tired, etc. And every time got variations of studio photos. Then I just changed the background from a concrete to white wall, and - boom, it did the trick ;-)
Alena Bitton
@julia_kitew @arpole, I mentioned the prompt in another post, but you also need to select the right settings in the left panel - clothes, colors, etc.
Valda
@julia_kitew @arpole @alena_b The painting styles look amazing! I played with the Dali sphinx theme. Will look good on my lounge room wall

One of the best things about Human Generator is that you can create lots of different images with the same human. Here’s the entire life of a woman made in less than 2 minutes: For better results, use clickable parameters. However, if you're after something special, you can experiment with text prompts. You don’t need to wreck your brain like in Midjourney. Actually, the easier and more straightforward your prompt is, the better. Here’s the same woman generated with the “long gown, crown” prompt added.
Paul Malaj
@jackson_huge Thanks! Enjoy Human Generator. And watch new features coming 😉
Alena Bitton
It's fun to play with. I tried to make a tribute to Magritte and got Freud as a bonus
Luba Zee
@alena_b Wow. That looks like a piece of art you can hang on a wall! Please generate more; I'm ready to decorate my house 🤩
Markus Novikov
@alena_b Jean Baudrillard approves this message!

This is how I feel at work: - Large queue with minimal latency 🟢 - Fast dynamic switching to auxiliary queue when the load increases 📈
Anna Shults
Wow, congratulations! It's super easy to use, and I'm happy there is no registration:) Wishing you good luck!
Lindsay Davis
@anna_shults Thank you so much! 😄 We're all about keeping things hassle-free and user-friendly.
Anna Kasumova
I like it guys! My congratulations on the launch! I like the idea and generated photo look good but I can't attach here. I don't know how :(((
Ivan Braun
@anna_kasumova use Imgur.com and paste the direct link to a jpg (not an HTML page).
Ivan Braun
@anna_kasumova thank you! appreciated, and I mean it
Michael Gudzikevich
Wonderful results!
Lindsay Davis
@manylattice Whoa, who knew Elle Fanning could rock the fantasy hero look so flawlessly? 🌟🗡️

Productivity tips from a maker: 1. No time to hassle with bodies? Use Human templates. Or click the Human Generator logo. 2. Want to experiment? Enter a random seed and click Update or use the Randomize button. 3. Want more postures? Try to change gender and/or age. 4. You can upload photos with many faces. Human Generator will recognize them all at once. And you are ready to go!

He's alive!
Lindsay Davis
@marina2 OMG! He is a legend!😮
Ivan Braun
@marina2 haha, striking resemblance!

It feels like it was yesterday when we trained AI to generate the first faces. And now we've made it possible to generate people in any pose, with any appearance, wearing any clothing, and in any environment without special skills. Though I'm among those who made it, I still want to pinch myself when I see what we've achieved: exceptional diversity, especially for ethnicities and ages, that was not possible just a couple of years ago.
Sam Frei
I've already posted a review, but I can't stop thinking of use cases for Human Generator. Well, deciding on your color season, Kibbe body type, essence, and all that TikTok trends. I know studios that charge a lot for just placing fabric in different colors close to your face and choosing the ones that work best for your appearance. Well, you could just upload your face and select various clothing colors, makeup, and outfit styles. Choose the pictures you like best and create a moodboard. Tip: to change makeup, use text prompts.
Ivan Braun
@sam_frei I think you see the possible uses better than me. Moreover, you opened the whole world of Kibby to me; I had no idea.
Nick Jones
My wife quickly figured out what this application could be used for. She has been wanting to change her hair style for a long time. Right now she is sitting on the phone and experimenting.
Lindsay Davis
@niketana Looks like your wife has cracked the code! 🙌 Changing hairstyles from the comfort of the couch – that's some next-level convenience right there. Hope she's having a blast trying out different looks! 💇‍♀️
Liz Worthy
So much fun! I'm going to play with this later with my daughter, who loves designing different outfits for her Barbie dolls. She also likes making memojis on my iPhone - this takes that concept to a whole new level.
Ivan Braun
@lizworthy playing doll outfits with kids - that's another use we never thought of.
Luba Zee
@lizworthy Aww! I hope she will enjoy designing new looks for her Barbie dolls! And she could take a photo of her dolls and use it in Human Generator. Gosh, I wish I could have had it when I was little 🥰
