I’ve been using Slash since the pre-launch on Product Hunt a year ago, and it’s completely transformed the way I get work done. I use Things 3 to capture and organize my tasks. And while it serves that purpose well, it wasn’t until using Slash that I realized just how bad it is at keeping you focused and motivated to actually DO the tasks you’ve committed to doing. Especially during the WFH/COVID-era, I can’t think of an app more essential to my daily workflow. Slash’s single task timer / HUD is an absolutely brilliant feature. It floats to the top of your screen providing a persistent reminder of the task you’re working on and how much time you’ve spent on it. (The way this behaves is extremely customizable to your workflow with the app’s generously detailed settings panel, clearly geared toward power users with control issues like me.) In my opinion, the brilliance in this feature is twofold: (1) it keeps your mind on what you’re doing amid the constant distractions of email, slack, meetings, etc, (2) it teaches you how long it ACTUALLY takes to get things done by providing a real-time counter of time spent. I’ve become noticeably better at estimating how much I can reasonably get done in a given day using Slash. Not only that, the developers are insanely proactive and responsive to user feedback. New releases come all the time, and rather than under the hood bug fixes, they almost always include some exciting new feature requested by the user community. I honestly can’t believe how much the product has improved since I first started using it. Congrats on the launch, guys! You’ve built something really special here!

Nothing else in the productivity space make getting things done feel this satisfying. Way to go Jordan and team!

Slash is a game changer for productivity apps. Most apps don't care about re-prioritization or about how chaotic work can become. Slash does this with so much ease. The simple interface ensures that it is effective, and devoid of distracting fluff. Slash has a special place in my heart. Thank you, @jlejuwaan.

Slash pre-launched and got #1 on Product Hunt 1 whole year ago! Since then we've been coding like maniacs to add the features our users voted for most, and some extra fun stuff we dreamed up :) The result is Slash 1.0. A major focus with 1.0 was helping you start your day with greater clarity + focus AND ending your day resolutely when you're done working. **Weekly Mode** Adds a 'This Week' column so you can plan out all your tasks for the week and track your progress (a la Sprint/Kanban). **Start Your Day** When you open Slash in the morning, it will ask you if you want to plan out your day, which clears your tasks from yesterday into 'This Week' and has you drag over the tasks you will work on today. **End Your Day** After you're done working, hit the 'End Day' button to get an uber-satisfying animation crossing off all the tasks you did that day, a progress bar of your tasks for the week, and an invitation to close the app and go have some fun. **Mobile App 1.0** You can now re-order, change lists and schedule tasks on our iOS + Android apps. **150+ other features** Big things to little things that make using Slash more of a joy, including keyboard shortcuts, multi-task selection, resizable focus bar, achievements, new branding, etc. Our mission is to help people make meaningful progress towards their dreams. I would love it if you gave Slash a try and see if it does that for you.

A must-have tool for freelancers. I used to organize my weekly sprints with Fantastical (calendar app). I moved to Slash 2 weeks ago. It improved my productivity by giving me a better overview of what needs to be done. It puts the emphasis on what's next. And according to me, you get 3 benefits out of this: - better decisions making when it comes to "important versus urgent" arbitrage - clearer interpretation on what you're upon to do (if it seems to broad, then it means it's not specific enough: it pushes you to split your task in mini others) - better reports for your clients on what have been done this week One thing I loved is that if I get late with my sprint, I don't judge myself in a bad way. Calendar views always give you the feeling that you're always late (in a bad way, with pressure of Time).

I've dreamed of and needed this product for an age - and within days of using it it's already fundamentally changed the way I work. Long may that continue!

So far liking this app, congrats! Initial main concern is Mac showing the app as a high battery usage app, would rather lower drain. Would like to keep using the app but not into monthly subscriptions for ToDo apps but would do a one time fee, lifetime style option. Any option for a one-time charge? Thanks and congrats on the launch!

I've been a Slash user for a few months now and I absolutely love it. I'd previously used Todoist, Trello, Keep and my inbox for task management, and while all of those had their merits, Slash stands out. The simplicity forces me to actually complete tasks instead of architecting my to do's endlessly only to realize I finished few items. Slick UI, too.

Not only has Slash adopted a super-clean, consistent design language, but it's more polished than ever (who doesn't like confetti and a beer prompt when you've slogged through your late afternoon tasks?) You get a generous number of tasks to get a feel for Slash, and it really does work well in my workflow. Because it doesn't bog you down with features off the get-go, onboarding is rather straight forward and delightful. Add your tasks, start the timer, and go—and the persistent hovering reminder of what task your working on is pretty awesome. Great app to help you crush tasks, stay focused, and revel in your new-found efficiency.

I started to use Slash 1.0 just when it came out. The interface is so slick and it can really help you to power through your tasks.

Ok - I haven't had this much fun working on tasks in a long time! There's just enough gamification to make me want to continue working on my daily to-do's without any distraction. Slash is taking good processes and practices from other todo apps and making them great by having them all just work together. This feels like the app I've always wanted, but I've apparently settled with the mundane daily sloshing through tasks. Who knew it could be this fun? Going to move over all my tasks and projects to really dig in. A couple of suggestions (I haven't dug all the way through Nolt yet to see) - Attach an image to a task. (I know I can accomplish this with the "open link" feature, but having an image pop up in the visual reminder would be clutch). Subtasks would be great to see in the Visual reminder and be able to check them off there as I'm working on the main task. Reminders.App integration. I use reminders (Siri) to schedule tasks. Would be nice to see them show up in Slash. Be able to expand/hide items in lists in the "All" View. Sorry for the length. I truly am enjoying this beautiful App and am still discovering new features that change my way of attacking productivity. Thanks @jlejuwaan & team!

@jlejuwaan One question - Do tasks reset every month? Or what happens if you run out of available tasks? I wasn't clear in if those tasks reset, or once you run out, the app stops working. Doesn't matter to me too much, as I just became a subscriber, but might be nice to have some clarity what happens when the total tasks run out.

I came, I slashed, I conquered. Feeling full on Julius Caesar after using Slash first thing this morning. What a delightful experience. I am usually skeptical of task apps but Slash feels like a keeper. Well done!

I'm the type of person who starts using a productivity tool, get all excited about it – only to be overwhelmed by all the functions and eventually abandoning said tool. I have been using Slash for some time now and it fits right in my perfect sphere of usefulness and no-frills. The fact that I am able to look at what I am to be working on and FOCUS on that task at hand has assisted my productivity (and by extension, my mental health). It's a task organizer that I want to use.

Congrats on the v1.0 - early user here. It takes of the question of "what's next" and works well with a proper daily planning ritual. Hoping for a Sunsama integration (i use it to add tasks from different sources to my daily list), so I can slash along in mindfulness :) All the best, Chris

I have been trying a lot of ToDo / Productivity apps for more than 9 years but never found the one which was up to the mark. While some had really good features but were not available on all platforms, some had really good UI/UX but not much features and there were some which got good set of features, UI/UX & availability but they became very confusing and no simple way to create and manage when needed. I started with Remember the Milk when there weren't many smartphones, they had a SMS option to save tasks. Then moved to Wunderlist, Any.Do, Evernote, Google Keep, Trello, Asana, Todoist. Used them for years and even paid for the premium versions of the few for sometime. I have been trying Slash for the last few days and I think it can be the one, it's really impressive. It has good set of features, integrations and also simple and clear UI/UX. Love the Pomodoros option and dark mode.

You have my attention with this app and workflow - and hoping it will stick. I can find a way to suggest new features, but cannot find a way to contact support. I must be doing something silly

This product has hit the sweet spot for me that no other focus/pomodoro app has been able to do. The simple framework of having the task at the bottom of the screen, along with an ongoing timer, has narrowed my focus and keep me fixed on my priority task. It's also been really helpful in time-tracking, giving me valuable feedback in terms of how long certain items actually take. For me, it's been kind of a breakthrough. Slash is now in my 'inner circle' of productivity tools.
