How about offering a custom email address I can send my receipts to manually in case I'm concerned about privacy? Then I could set up my own email filters to auto forward to that email address and not give away access to my email login.
@theleovogel We've thought about providing that functionality, but it isn't something that users request particularly often. I know that some users have solved it themselves by setting up a dedicated inbox and linking specific labels via IMAP, with filters to route messages to those labels. Sadly, I don't know many of the specifics on it, but it is possible.
@beanstalkomagic Just because customers doesn't request a feature doesn't mean you shouldn't offer it. Your customers aren't UX designers. It's not their job to tell you how to build your product. Sorry if that comes off harshly but I'm tired of hearing this excuse for not building features.
@theleovogel I'm sorry you feel that Slice isn't giving you an absolutely must-have feature for you to have the best experience possible. I know you're not the only one, either, whether it's this feature or another like a small shipment carrier.
In our experience building out Slice products the past several years, providing an inbox has been consistently outweighed by things like more price drop merchants, more carriers, faster tracking, a cleaner UI, better quick actions on items, and more accurate purchase data. It's not that we don't consider it or think it would be nice for some users, it's just that we have chosen to build features that impact the most users (both current and future) in the most positive way with the resources we have.

I'm so glad that I get to work alongside the Slice team every day.
Slice Drops is a beautiful little app that keeps track of all your online purchases and notifies you when the price of an item drops. You can then send the merchant a pre-written email and request money back. Slice will even automatically request money back for you from certain merchants.
Let us know if you have questions! π
Hi Product Hunt! π
Today Iβm really excited to show you a brand new app from Slice.
We get the most positive reviews and feedback from people who have saved money with Slice using our price drops feature, so we decided it deserved its own app. Hereβs what we changed:
- Improved the in-app experience compared to Slice
- Added new merchants (keep reading for more on that)
- Beefed up our price tracking quality
- Began adding support for automatically requesting price drops from all our supported merchants
Some of our newest, and most-requested, merchants:
- Gap
- Old Navy
- WalMart
- Athleta
- Banana Republic
Weβll automatically request money back when there are price drops with these merchants:
- Nordstrom
- REI
- Anthropologie
Weβre working on adding more merchants, so keep your eyes peeled over the coming weeks. Download the app and let us know what you think in the comments! Weβll be here all day. ππΈπ
@think_andreah Today, Slice Drops is similar to Paribus since we both identify potential savings for our users when they buy something online. Their success has given the space a lot of awareness and credibility, and generated some well-deserved excitement.
We've been sending our users price drop notifications for several years in our flagship Slice app, starting with only the few merchants that originally provided refunds and slowly expanding our coverage. Slice Drops is the culmination of a lot of our early work, as well as a recent focus on our quality and feature-set around price drops after some time focused on our flagship app's purchase and package tracking.
For us, Slice Drops is a launchpad for building more, and more personal, experiences around saving money both before and after you buy, and on more than just your online shopping. You can check out our Slice Watch Chrome extension for a hint of how we've started expanding on that idea. https://www.producthunt.com/post...
