Hola, PH! 👋 I'm David, CEO & co-founder of Glide. I'm so happy to share Glide 2.0 with you today. This is the result of a year of feedback from our awesome community, lessons from thousands of customers, and the joyful work of the entire Glide team. (If you're new to Glide: Glide creates web apps from Google Sheets, without code. The apps are optimized for phones & tablets and can be shared with a link. Users have created apps for everything from neighborhood composting clubs, to last-mile delivery of international freight.) Headline Features of Glide 2.0: 📐 Redesigned App Builder—we completely redesigned our app builder so you can build apps for larger screens and more easily work with data. 🖥 Tablet Layout—apps now feel more natural on more devices. This large-screen layout works on laptops, desktops, and the web. 👯‍♀️ Teams—create a team and add unlimited collaborators, for free. 🤖 Action Editor allows you to build multi-step action sequences with logic-based branching. 🧮 Glide Tables, our first data source beyond Google Sheets, is faster and more scalable than Google Sheets. You can still build apps using Google Sheets, but now they're optional. ⚡️ 10x Faster Data Editor—our built-in spreadsheet editor is much faster and fully open-source. 🧑‍💼 Try Apps for Work—we worked with our business customers to build apps specifically for their needs, and made those apps free for anyone to copy. Copying one starts a 14-day trial of Glide's business tier, no credit card required. There are many other improvements to apps, team collaboration, and templates. Visit glideapps.com/2.0 for the full list. We hope you enjoy Glide 2.0, and build an amazing app for work, for good, or just for fun 😉 Thank you! David & The Glide Team PS: Our focus for the next year is to enable more data sources like Excel and Airtable, and to significantly improve our web & desktop layouts. Please share your feedback on our community forum and stay tuned!
David Siegel
@eugenehp Thanks a lot! And simpler than both of those, we hope ;)
Ken Savage
@dvdsgl congrats on the launch. You’ve got a nice list of features but what are the benefits of using Glide? Do you have a page I can look at with case studies to figure out how I can apply this to my business?
David Siegel
@kensavage Thank you! Yes, check out these common business uses of Glide, and a customer video explaining the benefits: https://www.glideapps.com/for-work
Carlos Marchan
@dvdsgl Hi David! Congratulations on the launch! I was wondering when will PDF creating capabilities possible in the platform?
David Siegel
@carlos_marchan Hey Carlos! We have some ideas for how to do this—it was a stretch goal for Q2 but we will likely not do it until end of this year.

I've been a fan of Glide for a long while now and with each iteration, it seems to be getting 10x more powerful, easy to use and fun to build with. Excited to bring forth and share the redesigned Glide 2.0 with the PH audience :) Impressed by the set of features this new release unlocks which include major enhancements to the app builder, team collaboration (magic links etc), and tons of new templates for business use-cases.
David Siegel
@thisiskp_ Thank you for your support! It was a blast working on ODNC1 together.

Fantastic product - and great update. I started with Glide 1.0 after it first came out and it was great... but had some drawbacks as an enterprise app platform. Many of these issues (security, etc) were fixed during 2020, so that encouraged me to get back into Glide start of 2021 building a networking app with a swipe feature (cool!). As I got more into it, I decided to use Glide for my next project - covessa.de - a telemedicine app for remote covid testing with video chat. First it was just the prototype, then the MVP, and now the front end and part of the back-end for the live system. Over the past months the Glide team has done exceptional work on making the platform extremely powerful to develop not just easy apps, but sophisticated workflow apps. Mine, for example, is actually at least 3 apps for now that all talk to one another (not quite in real time, but I have hopes for future things :). The learning curve to get into Glide is very quick - my youngest son earned his Airpods (instead of just watching YouTube vids) by spending 4.5 hours to learn Glide, learn Google Sheets, throw in some IMPORTXML, and make an app for his favorite YouTube channels (for kids). Not bad for a 14 year old - and a great platform for all to explore. Thanks to @Dvdsgl and the Glide team! Also the Glide Community is amazingly helpful - my go-to place to figure things out, learn new tricks, and help me continue to push the boundaries of the tech. Thanks!

Glide is one of the fastest and most reliable ways to build high-quality apps without code! I have met over 30 experts that build with Glide on daily bases and for them it is a tool of choice to build mobile experiences. I hope more companies will understand how transformational it could be to replace their legacy set-ups with a fresh & fast Glide app 👀 Exited for this update and def love the layout!
David Siegel
@the_andriy_bond Thank you, Andrew! 🙏
Gabe Perez
A really big fan of Glide 1.0. 2.0 is looking really sleek and THANK YOU for making a faster data editor. The move makes more sense, keeps data in-house, gives you more control, and love that it's open-source. Congrats ?makers! Might have to brainstorm some ideas so I have an excuse to use 2.0.
David Siegel
@gabe__perez Thank you, Gabe!
Claire Murdough
Super excited for everything new in Glide — amazing work! You guys are zooming!
David Siegel
@claire_murdough2 Thank you for being one of our early champions!
Gregory Wehmeyer
I've been working toward a simple AAC app for cognitively impaired adults who lack the ability to speak and cannot navigate the overbuilt ones currently on the market. The trick is that users and their caregivers need to be able to load images that represent needs frequently requested, and then have those images be able to link to the next layer in the conversation being built on the fly, then savable for later use. Glide 1.0 had the bones to do most of this, but lost it in the execution. I've since moved on the prototyping exactly what I want to build, once I learn to program in the language that can accomplish this, however, I may take a second look at Glide 2.0 to see if some very specific improvements have been made that might allow me to proceed without a programming education.
David Siegel
@gregory_wehmeyer Very interesting. I think our new Action Editor could help you achieve the logic that you describe here. Please share more info on our community forum and I'm sure we can help you make more progress.

Kavir Kaycee
Glide's been my go-to app to build anything in no-code. I've used it for projects ranging from customer support to mental health to helping with resources during India's second wave of COVID-19. Love the 2.0 update @dvdsgl and looking forward to exploring it further 🔥
David Siegel
@kavirkaycee wow, thank you for the support, Kavir! Your apps are an inspiration to us all.
Vensy Krishna
Glide is currently the best app-builder for beginners to no-code and Glide 2.0 is extremely powerful. Many of my projects including hydcovidresources.com were built on it and it is a joy to set it up simply and then innovate creatively while making powerful apps that scale well. Thanks, @dvdsgl and team for this tool that helps non-technical founders such as myself to build on our ideas without the need for a tech team 🙏🏼
David Siegel
@vensykrishna Thank you Vensy! Congrats on pushing your Glide app to 350k users—it helped so many people!
