The biggest update ever to Glitch's editor is up to 300% faster. It offers an automatic Fastly CDN for assets, previews of 3D models, inline error reporting, better Prettier support, and one-click access to GitHub import/export + domains.
We're thrilled to launch a super-fast new editor for Glitch that, in addition to looking a lot prettier, delivers on a ton of new features that developers and our community has been asking for. You can read all about it right here: https://blog.glitch.com/post/wel...
@anildash With the CDN integration and all of these inline features, it seems like Glitch is moving towards a sort of reenvisioning of a dev environment, towards being a turnkey place to experiment with small-to-medium projects. Is that what you're thinking? How do you see users thinking of Glitch as a place to build and share, as opposed to, say, Atom+Heroku+Github?
@benjamin_wheeler great question! Basically we think we need to have a lot of both for Glitch to be a great community for sharing. The integration between the creation space and the hosting environment lets us do a lot to make sharing easier. Probably the best way to explain it is that the social object of Glitch is the *app*, not the *code*. So everything we’re doing is in service of having more, better apps and projects in the community.
I used to be pretty frustrated with Glitch's editor, so I didn't use Glitch much, but I'm excited to see what has changed! Looking forward to it! By the way, in dark mode I can barely see the file name on top, could you optimize the dark mode?
