people started going nuts over this - saying they lost their job because they mic dropped their boss - but surely people who use computers can read the news too since its halfway through the ether that it was a gmail prank....surely either some employers are extremely silly or there are a lot of liars around!
Can't keep RSS running after they knocked almost everyone out of the game but they can invest time and resources to a yearly joke that isn't ever funny. Sigh.

UPDATE: Well, it looks like we pranked ourselves this year. 😟 Due to a bug, the Mic Drop feature inadvertently caused more headaches than laughs. We’re truly sorry. The feature has been turned off. If you are still seeing it, please reload your Gmail page.
@bentossell Hahaha! It was fun while it lasted though. I thought they run through extensive tests before launching things like these, especially at this magnitude. GG, well played Google.....
DAAAAAAYYUUUUUMMM GOOGLE, back at it again with dem hot pranks! Haha this is awesome! I really do hope they keep this after today! We should see a lot of prank products and services on here today, like my own i hunted. Gona be a really long but fun day...... I'm ready.
