@_jacksmith Jack - Admittedly, marketing has never been my strong suit. What do you think is a better tagline?
@parttimesnob I'm not really sure what could be a good tagline. I just don't think that 'beautiful' is a good fit, as I don't think that's one of your strong points.

GMass, a Chrome extension for GMail, divvys up mass emails and even sends as a reply to the last conversation you had with that person. The install is unobtrusive, adding only two buttons, and allows you to customize the subject field with first and/or last name.
Liking the compose message from search feature, there is a lot more to this than I originally thought will have to dig into it further.
@tracyingram Thank you! I'm particularly proud of that feature. I'm probably not highlighting that enough, but it's at the core of how I expect users to build their email lists.
This is an awesome product. I'm already using it to email small groups of investors and founders. Love the creation of drafts so I can customize some as needed. I often hit the limit on # emails given my search: would love a feature where I can select certain emails from the search and it just takes those emails.
@nikhilkal Thanks Nikhil! Yea, we can certainly improve the way we handle situations when the search results in too many email addresses. We need better error handling and limit-setting there, so that if you do breach the limit, we at least return as many addresses as we can and notify you accordingly. I hear you on wanting to select certain messages though -- I'll add that to our roadmap.
Hey thanks for developing this. I'm curious of how this is different from MailMerge except for adding the button to Gmail.
@kesslerio Well functionally, both GMass and Mail Merge (http://www.labnol.org/internet/p...) are capable of sending mass, personalized emails. I think that my product is far easier to use because it's a Chrome extension and adds buttons to the Gmail UI so you can manage everything from within Gmail. With Mail Merge, you need to create an outside spreadsheet, download their script, save a draft in Gmail, and then use the script to initiate sending of the draft to the emails in the spreadsheet. It's a clunkier process than what GMass requires. Additionally, I don't believe Mail Merge provides open-tracking. Finally, there are two killer features I built that I don't think any other product has:
1. The ability to build an email list based on search results in your account
2. The ability to have emails go out as replies to the last conversation you had with each person on your list (instead of a new message thread).
Hope that helps. Lastly, I'm aggressively developing GMass into a full-blown email marketing platform for Gmail. Soon we'll support scheduling, saved lists, click-tracking, and lots more.

@kristapslazda Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for, minus the spammer use! We will soon have the capability to ALSO connect to a spreadsheet to pull recipient data, but it won't be via a Google Script. It will have a clean interface and be part of the browser extension.
@parttimesnob Would be nice to be able to somehow turn off tracking emails retro-actively. I never realised how many people loved my emails! Great news but tough on the inbox! ha
Thanks Kiki for hunting GMass. I built GMass to be a dead-simple mass email system for Gmail. I started researching and building GMass out of my own frustration one day while needing to email five different candidates about an open position at my company. There was no easy way to do that, without exposing them to each other or BCC’ing them. GMass lets you send mass emails to your existing Gmail contacts, without having to import anything. It also tracks and reports email opens. You can build an instant recipient list based on search results. And the real killer feature is the ability to have your emails go out as replies to the last conversation you had with each recipient, instead of a new message.

@parttimesnob Great stuff! Question, so the recipients of the mass email has to be already contacts of mine?
@cliffdailey Not necessarily. You can use GMass to send to any email address you put in the To field. You can copy/paste email addresses from anywhere and put them into the To line. However, if you do this, and you don't already have a First/Last Name associated with the email address, you won't be able to use personalization. Soon though, I'll support pulling data from spreadsheets and being able to use all the spreadsheet columns for personalization.
@parttimesnob I just came up with Gmass and its feature list, which is awesome. However, what happens if 2-3 of my recipients mark me as "report as spam," "report phishing," etc., in that case will my personal gmail ID get blocked by Google? I'm curious to know. :)
I think the "reply mass email" function is a marketing game changer. If it is a reply to the prior conversation/email then the open rate will increase dramatically. I have been using the product for almost a week and have already closed sales with the replies from the emails I have sent. The "build a list with search" function allows me to segment my list and message.
@theisopros Thanks for the compliment! Yes, the two distinctive features are: 1) the ability to build a list from search results and 2) the ability to have your email campaign go out as a reply rather than a new thread.
This is an innovative product. I can enter a keyword and email everyone who I have ever discussed that topic with over the years. My only fear is that Google will shut my account down for sending too many emails. Strong work @PartTimeSnob
@therichlevy Thank you kind sir! It's unlikely Google will shut down your account for volume, because they control how many emails you can send per day. See https://support.google.com/a/ans.... If the shut you down, it will be because your emails were generating complaints. Google just a couple weeks ago launched a new Postmaster site which has guidelines for bulk senders: https://gmail.com/postmaster/
I manage the small but eager volunteer base at a local non-profit. I've been struggling to find an effective tool to communicate with my volunteers. Newsletter tools such as Mailchimp and Tinyletter don't exactly fit the sporadic nature of communicating with my volunteers.
I was excited to discover GMass because it fits very well into my workflow. I don't have to worry about exiting my Gmail tab, losing my train of thought, or fumbling with bulky extensions. GMass does effectively what most extensions struggle with, it completes its purpose in a discrete, elegant, and out-of-your-way-unless-you-need-it way. I'm excited to use this tool as our non-profit programming ramps up and our volunteer base grows. Thanks for an awesome product!

I've reached out to GMass but they ignore my emails. I wanted to cancel after the trial, but apparently they didn't want the same. I've paid the hundreds of dollars and never used their software because I could never get it working. What a scam.
