Back in the late 1990s, I gifted handheld cassette recorders to a few family members, hoping to capture their wisdom. My dad shared his story—one that included his struggles with depression toward the end of his teaching career. Listening to it was jaw-dropping. It not only brought us closer but painted a fuller picture of who he was. Today, that audio keepsake is one of my most cherished possessions, and now, as a parent myself, I can’t wait to pass it on to my kids. This experience made me realize that every family deserves the chance to connect on that deep, transformative level. Golden Record is here to solve a simple but profound problem: families often go through life without truly capturing the stories that define their legacies. How does Golden Record work? At its core, Golden Record is an audio-only platform that makes it easy and intuitive to create keepsakes: Create or join albums | Collaborate with family members on shared audio albums.
