Google is bringing back Google Wallet and in many countries, replacing Google Pay. For those in the US or Singapore, Google Wallet will work alongside Google Play, serving as a wallet to store boarding passes, driver's licenses, & providing payment services.

Google Wallet first launched in 2011, but was restricted to the Nexus phone and had many barriers to accessing cards in your wallet. Google Play, the latest iteration of Google's payment services, has served as the primary wallet for Android users since 2018. Now, Google Wallet is back and will take over Google Play in 39 countries. Those in the US and Singapore will continue to have access to Google Pay, but only to send money to family and friends. The new Google Wallet is a way to make contactless payments and store your debit and credit cards, flight tickets, and more.
