Howdy y’all! I’m a designer at Gowalla, and we’re thrilled to announce the new Gowalla is available today in the app store! It’s a social map and messenger all in one, and we hope it helps make it fun and easy to connect with your friends IRL: Add your favorite places to the map, check in when you go out, and find your crew in the real world. Speaking of the real world, we’ll be in Austin this weekend for SXSW. We’re hosting a gathering with our friends at Funsize on Monday, March 13. Details on social media. As a tinkerer in this space (one of the many PH posted apps called truffle, 2015-8) https://www.producthunt.com/prod... I really wanted to try the chat, because that's what we were trying to build out. I noticed that the contacts uploader won't work for me, and as of now that's the only way it would enable friend connections. Can someone add me so I can see?

Congrats on the launch, y'all! Getting to use Gowalla again for the last several months has been a treat. Looking forward to what comes next, and to having so many more of my friends on!

True story, Gowalla was instrumental in meeting my wife. I used it to plan our first dates and it really impressed her at the time. I hope it brings some of the original features back like the ability to leave designated messages to friends. :)
