As someone with a small SaaS, I've never done any proper research efforts other than customer calls and such. For a founder like me, how would you recommend I tackle research using these templates to get the most out of it for my business? Where would I start? What's highest leverage?
Thereasa Roy
@jessethanley Hey Jesse, thanks for checking out the templates. I'm going to go full consultant mode on you and say "it depends," but I'll follow up with some context. If you are still trying to figure out product-market fit, go with the discovery templates. Anything in that use case section will help you understand who your customers are and how they're using your product. If you are trying to figure out if your solution is working as you intended, a validation interview or true intent survey is great. If you are seeing an increase in churn (hopefully not), a quick churn survey (with incentive) can help understand what's going on. And, sometimes those pair well with a competitor benchmark survey. Long story longer, start with your biggest Great Question, and go from there. We're happy to hop on a call to discuss too! https://info.greatquestion.co/en...

@jessethanley @thereasa_roy "It depends" is right :) However, if you've been running customer calls, you probably have some initial ideas around "Hmmm... I wish I knew more about (something)" - another way to start narrowing down all the options & prioritizing your next steps.

Very helpful! Concrete rules to apply the mom test. Will use this in my next customer call.
Thereasa Roy
@parthi_logan Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Love this @ned_dwyer - I'm going to start a project next week using one of these!

As a product designer, getting customer feedback on my designs is a critical part of my workflow but it’s always been time-consuming to do so. Excited to use the validation interview template in particular to speed up my research prep and give me more confidence in my design decisions going forward!

Hey! I’m Ned, co-founder and CEO of Great Question. I'm stoked to get to launch our Research Templates to the world to make it super easy to spin up new research - whether you re a professional, or just someone looking to better understand your customers. If you don’t know Great Question, we’re on a mission to democratize customer research at organizations big and small. Because we believe everyone who has a Great Question, deserves to get an answer. We started by making it easy to find customers to speak with. Then we made it easy to conduct research, using just one tool to launch surveys, conduct prototype test, schedule interviews and send incentives. We’d love to know what you think of these templates, and what additional ones you’d like to see!

I've been using Great Question for discovery-focused research and rapid prototype testing for a while now, and it's honestly AMAZING how quickly you can go from wondering about something to sharing insights about that thing with your team. Having a battery of well structured templates is going to be great. Obviously it will help me launch better quality research, even faster. But one of the benefits I didn't expect was how well it fills blindspots: What are the topics & questions I hadn't even considered?
Thereasa Roy
@peter_haasz Yes! That's it! Let us know if find other great questions that aren't covered with these templates, we can always add more!

I’ve worked as a UX Researcher at a really big tech company and at a really small startup. The thing they had in common? They both wanted more research, and they both wanted it yesterday. BUT THERE’S ONLY SO MUCH ONE RESEARCHER CAN DO. Which is why I think the templates are a great addition. I’m looking forward to sending my PM and Designer off to get started on their own research projects, without any of the prep I used to have to do, or the ‘mares I’d get lying awake at night wondering what on earth they were going to be asking our customers. Question though: Any plans to build out the template library?
Thereasa Roy
@harri_thomas Hi-ya Harri, Yes! We will be building out the template library. We'd love any suggestions for additional templates you use and love!

PJ here - CTO and cofounder at Great Question. I am so proud of our team for getting these research templates accessible to all our customers starting today. With every release we’re reinforcing our mission to democratize research. The fastest way to integrate more feedback into your product development process is to empower anyone to do great research. We’d love to know what you think.
Thereasa Roy
Thereasa here, and I run marketing at Great Question. I joined Great Question over 6 months ago, pulled by their mission to empower everyone to do great research using fewer tools, therefore democratizing research. I have felt the pain of trying to conduct customer research in previous product marketing roles and found that I was spending more time doing administrative tasks and less time talking to customers, and asking the right questions. This is why I joined Great Question, but it's why I am so proud to share Research Templates with all of you! This has been a labor of love for our teams but is critical to help us achieve our mission. As a non-professional researcher myself, I finally feel empowered to ask the RIGHT questions of my customers, a critical part of any product marketing role! Thanks all for checking it out! Looking forward to your feedback!

I see very useful, this tool. I will use it and see how it goes. Congratulation on the launch.

I used to be a journalist, and now lead customer success. Framing the question is just as important as the content of the question. This will make it so much easier to ask the right question at the right time—without second guessing yourself. Huge!
