I'm curious- how does this work from a regulatory point of view? Who do you clear through? Who is you B-D and custodian?
@aloukissas Hey Alex, glad you asked! The Reserve Bank of India, under the Liberal Remittance Scheme (LRS), allows Indian nationals to remit up to $250,000 abroad every year and it is explicitly mandated that trading foreign securities is legal. On the brokerage side, we've partnered with an SEC registered brokerage and they use Apex as their clearing house :)
This is so simple, yet so useful. I love it! Would recommend! As an Indian, who's lived in the US, it's so important to have access to investment options in US securities, and a diverse portfolio.

I didn't realize you need a US SSN to sign up online at etrade/etc, so really cool there's finally a way for people in India to buy US stocks!

Good work, but how do you make sure that banks don’t harass people for remittances, more importantly does it comply the LRS by RBI?

Could you put up some info in FAQ about USD--INR conversion charges, remitting INR back to my Indian bank and #of days to credit. Also, any plans of simplifying the resulting tax paperwork that will result from this? I looked up for this kinda brokers sometime back...and not finding any decent solution gave up on it.
@kazisuhail Hey Suhail, if you message me your email ID I'll keep a lookout for it ;) Absolutely will do. Yes, we're definitely working on providing the necessary paperwork (in-app) to simplify tax returns especially since the US and India have a Double Taxation Treaty.

This is brilliant. I so wanted to know how to buy stock in US cos but was unable to do so due to the daunting paperwork required. I hope this makes it as easy as just linking a bank account and bam!

Just Joined the waiting list. May be this is an awesome place to buy US equities, But my suggestion is to get a local Bank/RBI or any regulatory brand name on the page. That will increase confidence for the end user/consumer. if you increase the trust factor, 1. You will get high ticket investment 2. More subscribers. You can also be more transparent on how you earn. You know there is no FREE LUNCH in the market. Just FYI. Good Luck Guys
