A Reddit tool by Ground News that allows you to visualize the news of any subreddit. ➡️ Why we created it: Reddit is comprised of thousands of communities dedicated to a wide variety of topics. These groups are great for meeting like-minded people, but are often bad for seeing other sides of an issue. This makes subreddits, especially political ones, susceptible to groupthink. The Reddit Blindspotter allows users to easily visualize the news bubble of subreddits, enabling users to see if multiple viewpoints are being shared, or if perspectives from only one side dominates the subreddit discourse. ➡️ How to use the tool: ✅ Look up any public subreddit and we’ll let you know if multiple viewpoints are being shared, or if news from one side of the political spectrum dominates the subreddit discourse. ✅ Share the results in your favorite subreddit ➡️ Under the Hood: ✅ Then Reddit Blindspotter can only access reddit data that is publicly available. It can not read the data of private subreddits or personal accounts. ✅ In order to pull the data, the tool parses through a subreddits history and analyzes posts with news content that have a bias rating.
