An open, anonymous database of marketing salaries and freelancing earnings to help folks understand their worth, benchmark their experience, and ask for more.
Hey PH friends!
I’m Sarah, the Founder of Growclass. A couple of weeks ago was International Women’s Day, and while the celebrating was nice— it wasn’t particularly useful. So we wanted to create something that could actually be helpful for women and underrepresented folks in tech.
Introducing: The Marketing Salaries Database
A public database of anonymous marketing salaries to help you benchmark yourself, understand your worth on the market, and ultimately— ask for more.
It's really hard to advocate for your worth if you don't know how much other marketers with similar skills are paid. If you don't know a guy with the same title as you is making 25% more, it's a lot harder to have a conversation asking for 25% more.
Information is power.
What to do next:
1. Contribute your salary anonymously
2. Share this database with your friends and colleagues in marketing
3. Use this information to benchmark yourself and *ask for more*
If you have any questions or just want to chat about marketing, salaries, and your value, let’s chat below or drop me a line at sarah@growclass.co.
Waving from Toronto!
Marketing salaries and compensation can have such high variances and often it's the underrepresented and minorities that get taken advantage of. This is a great resource to help level the playing field and a guide for employers to fairly compensate their employees. Kudos to the team!
I wish this was around when I was working in-house, every job I had I found out later I was being paid less than I should have been paid because I didn't even know what the range was. This is a HUGE public service. Thank you!
Salary transparency is so needed in all fields, but especially in marketing where facility with the English language makes everyone think they're an expert. I'm here for any tool that helps marketers get paid what they're worth.
What an incredible resource! Especially as we're still fighting for pay transparency AND pay equity, a resource like this, with data from actual occupants of marketing roles is invaluable. This will help so many to accurately assess their worth in the job market.
I love the transparency this is bringing to our industry! One quick question—are the salaries listed here in USD or a mix based on where folks are coming from? If we contribute our salary, should we specify which currency it's in? (Or, as a Canadian, should I just put mine into USD?)
This is so important! We need more pay transparency in marketing, and seeing the data in this doc has already made me realize how much my agency was undercharging!
Love this! Such an impactful resource for marketers looking to negotiate salary whether that's in their current job or in their next role. We can now go into conversations with knowledge and confidence. Thank you!
Love this! Thanks for sharing (I've shared in a few Slack groups I'm part of as well as adding my salary).
Suggestion: it would be great to have a filter by currency as well. I noticed some people, myself included, added CAD or USD, but it would be helpful to see that esp since some people might be paid in a different currency than where they're living (and not everyone added their city, but might be more likely to add their currency).
