Getting backlinks and exposure for your startup or brand is an absolute pain in the a**. You can either spend hours scouring the internet for companies in parallel industries, only to email them and find they're not interested in collaborating on a guest post, or there's the less ethical approach of simply paying your way to the top through buying backlinks. As a founder myself, I decided I wanted to make the process easier for people like me, so a couple of years ago I co-founded a newsletter called Guest Post Juice, which provided links to Guest Posting Opportunities every month, from companies actually looking for contributors. Unlike other lists of this nature, we ensured a decent variety of opportunities in many niches covering topic areas like finance, nutrition and obviously startups and entrepreneurship (and much more). We also ensured the list wasn't just limited to big players, the thought process being, yeah maybe a startup isn't going to get on the front page of Zapier's blog (well actually one of our subscribers did), but they might well be able to get on the front page of a smaller companies blog. Essentially, we wanted everyone to be able to get value, particularly startups, scaleups and entrepreneurs. It ended up a fantastic resource valued by SEO's, marketers, founders and pretty much anyone who couldn't be bothered to spend copious hours looking for places to guest post. We took out the leg work and supplied links to companies actively looking for guest post contributors. The newsletter was cool, but readers were finding it a faff to sort through all the links. So we decided the next step up was a filterable database of every link we've ever shared and more.
