HabitKit is the perfect app for anyone looking to form new habits or break old ones. With HabitKit, you can track your progress with beautiful tile-based grid charts and draw motivation from growing the amount of colored tiles on your dashboard.
Hey Product Hunters 👋
I'm Sebastian, the maker of HabitKit. After pushing multiple updates since the App Store launch and polishing the current version, I finally found the confidence to launch on Product Hunt.
HabitKit is a habit tracker for iOS and Android and helps you to build new habits and visualizes your progress in a cool tile-based grid:
➕ Create new habits and track your progress
🟪 Beautiful tile-based grid visualization
🎨 Customize with colors, icons and themes
📅 Searchable calendar
📦 Data import/export to JSON
⏰ Reminders and notifications
📱 iOS home screen widgets
I also have lots of new features planned for the future and I will release frequent content updates and bugfixes. Would love to hear your feedback and hope that you'll check it out!
Thank you! ❤️
Hey there! Congrats on the launch on the Product Hunt! 🎉
I love colors and tile-based grid visualization.
One question which comes to my mind is
How do you manage texts of push notifications for different habits? Is it every time the same text or do you use different ones for different habits?
@denis_galka Thank you very much for your support, Denis!
What I do regarding the notifications: When a user adds a reminder for a habit, I schedule a reoccuring notification with the specific name of the habit. When the user changes the name of the habit, I reschedule that notification with the new name 🙂
@sebastianroehl For example, a user wants to give up masturbating and he or she doesn't want other people accidentally see a push notification with this word in the header. Maybe the user will prefer to see not-so-direct text on their phone display.
As for me I found to have "GitHub-streak"-style visually clear for most of the people who try to deal with repetitive tasks.
Hope to see some kind of statistics for tasks and habits and also cloud Sync option and MacOS version.
Keep doing, friend!
@asaskevich Thanks for the kind words and your awesome feedback! I have a lot new features and improvements planned for the future and will try to incorporate your points 🙌
A great app to track your daily progress. I always wanted to see my progress like GitHub activities heat map but never found any app that was doing it. Thanks Sebastian for creating such a great app! Love it!
Congrats on your launch! I really like your Github inspired overview, and how simple the app is to use. 🙌
Any plans to define a custom streak schedule in the future?
For instance, if you want to work out on specific days, five times a week.
@pactode Hey Morten, thank you for your support! ❤️
Adding the ability to define specific days for the streak goal is definitely in my backlog and I will tackle this soon 🙌
Congrats, a nice utility. I liked a lot.
The animation speeds can be improved. I feel like it's about to crash but just a slight delay of page transition animation cause this perception.
Also the button sizing seems smaller to me. İt might be related with the font weight selection too.
A nice app, hope to see that you'll have lots of users.
@mresyilmaz Thank you for your support and valueable feedback! I'll be definitely working on improving the performance of the app and adjusting the UI scaling. I built it with Flutter and sometimes there are well-known issues for iOS devices. But I'm sure that I will figure it out!
Thanks again for your great input!
@sebastianroehl installed it, and so far it looks great, very well done! 👌
fingers crossed for a long solid line of green dots in a month, and a habit that finally stick :D
