It's great partnering with Neon also because there's no more a need to create and maintain multiple accounts for your Serverless GraphQL BaaS. You can login to Neon using your Hasura Cloud account ⚡

Congratulations on the launch! Always inspiring to see partnerships between good tools making the life of developers easier! 🚀

We are using Hasura in production and it's awesome for our scale!

Will the NEON-db be "free forever" if you use the hasura cloud? How can I connect locally to the neon psql instance? Also does the neon-db support all psql features?
Raouf Chebri
Hey @stefan_hesse, Neon intends to keep its Free Tier even after the Technical Preview period. Please find how to connect using psql here: https://neon.tech/docs/get-start... Regarding the psql features, can you share which ones are important to you?

Thank you for hunting this @kevin ! We’re very excited to announce this partnership with Neon to give our users an instant free Postgres database to get started with on Hasura Cloud. When we first launched Hasura OSS, the easiest way to try it out was on Heroku, where you could deploy the database and Hasura at the same time and get the API within seconds. When we launched Hasura Cloud in 2020, we had the same integration with Heroku, but it took our users a few minutes to log into Heroku and create a database before they could experience Hasura. When Heroku announced the deprecation of their free Postgres database plans, we had the opportunity to strive for an even better developer experience for getting started with Hasura and getting your first GraphQL API. We discussed this idea with Neon and they were on board. We’re big fans of what Neon is working towards and with this integration, our users now get a one-click integration with a free Postgres database without leaving the Hasura console, and get to create their first GraphQL API within seconds! Creating a GraphQL backend is a lot faster and easier and we’re excited to see what you’ll build with it! Please leave your feedback in the comments and we’ll be sure to get back to you. Thank you!

It is absolutely wonderful y'all're doing this. I stood up a 1CPU / 5GiB RAM / 10GiB disk Google CloudSQL instance about a week ago, and it's running me around $1.⁷⁵ a day for that, the absolute smallest of instances. 𝐸𝑑𝑖𝑡: 𝐼 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑝𝑢𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑟 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑓𝑖𝑔𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 614𝑀𝑖𝐵 𝑅𝐴𝑀 & 𝐼 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑝𝑎𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 $0.³³ / 𝑑𝑎𝑦. How it's so expensive, I dunno, but to have a free tier to at least develop on is great. Kudos. In any case Neon looks wicked awesome & I'm all about the open-source.
