No more updating a google spreadsheet or Notion template once and then never looking at it again. Harold is a quirky SMS bot, powered by AI that makes tracking your habits:
Hey congrats on adding these features Kyleigh. What I most like is the minimal typeform entry. Curious how does it work if you have multiple habits does the stats get aggregated or just for each one separately?
Harold's great, I signed up for updates about 6 months ago I think, congrats for delivering it!
As far as habit trackers go I think this is the way to do it!
Did you have a mascot/icon of someone as the logo at some point or is my mind playing tricks on me?
I was curious about what tools you used to built it. Would love to know more about what's behind Harold!
@stelian_dobrescu1 Thanks Steph! You're right I used to use this emoji as the logo π΄ but decided to work with a brand designer to give it a more modern refresh. Maybe I'll have to bring it back at some point!
The stack is mainly Autocode, Airtable, Twilio. And I use Unicorn Platform for the website. π Happy to chat more if you have more specific questions.

A lot has changed but the mission is still the same: **Help people experience the benefits of tracking habits.**
I built Harold because I was feeling stuck. I had big goals but I felt like I wasnβt making any progress on them. I knew tracking habits was beneficial, but I couldnβt stick with tracking long enough to experience the benefits. I would track for 2 days and then forget to do it.
So I built Harold to solve my own problem. And it worked. For the first time I was able to track consistently for 4 months straight. I built habits like:
- working on my side projects for 30 minutes before work
- exercising for at least 30 minutes a day
- journaling before opening my computer in the morning
Harold is for you if:
- If youβve ever tried to build a habit but fell off, forgot, or gave up.
- Youβve never experienced the benefits of tracking habits consistently
- You want to level up in a mindful, effective way
- You tend to ignore push notifications + hate downloading another app and creating another login

@kyleighsmith Wow, Harold is an amazing mechanism to track your habits in a super easy way!! Not sure what I'd do without him?? Thanks Kyleigh for creating such a well thought through product that I know will help a ton of fellow makers and creators. Let's go!!
Refreshing to see the return of a habit tracker app that is celebrating it's launch birthday because it is just that good at helping you keep your habits and also so meta that Kyleigh's been consistent and intentional about building and iterating to give a fresh new edition for 2022!
Still a fan of the SMS idea - it's like a friend is checking in on me and I feel even more accountable. Kudos on the launch!
Been following Kyleigh's journey with Harold since v1 and love to see how far it's gotten!
Habits are the foundational element of success and Harold is an easy way to get started and stay accountable on that journey π―
Glad to see such a powerful usecase built on Typeform. I love NoCode too.
I really see a lot of scope to build it as a gamified premium product as there is already good demand as per your last years launch and again this year. Amazing to read your progress.
I have a suggestion for you, if you could try to bring this messages on whatsapp then this could spread and grow like fire. Whatsapp has more flexibility in terms of message formats you can send with buttons to capture response. I really hope this could help you take the operations of Harold globally without the barrier of the sms constraints. I do have some suggestions i would like to demo and help you with building this further.
I really love what you are doing Kyleigh. I would be more than happy to chat and see if i can help you in any way(calendly link in my profile section) talk to you, Cheers π»
I've been using Harold for a few months and am loving the daily reminders at 8PM. Nothing gets me off my butt quicker to do my daily pushups than the text reminder from Harold. (Except for the times where I keep sitting on my butt and Harold sends a witty response to motivate and encourage me anyway.)
Is (like me) SMS is consistently top 3 in your screen time report?
If so, establishing habits through text message should be a no brainer.
Harold is a simple, yet powerful hack to track and measure personal or professional habits.
I'm excited to see what 2.0 has in store.
Such a cool idea! Congratz!! π Today I also launched my product. If you're using Discord. You can easily add live chat to your web page(WebChatWidget)
hi @kyleighsmith wow i stumble on Harold, this is ex-act-ly what I need !
Buuuuut... i am French and leave in France.... pleeeease could you prioritize international phone numbers ?
In the same "internationalization" move, it would be great that Harold answers in French so that I may interact in my own language, not in English, which would feel very less natural, and so be less incitative to carry on with my habits ;-)
@xavier_rabilloud Glad it's resonating! And thanks for the feedback. If you want to DM me on Twitter (@bagelsangranola) we can chat a little bit more about next steps with international phone #'s. Might be a few things we can try in the meantime.
Harold is a personality that inspires me to set goals for each day and actually do them. He's not intrusive and not judgmental. He's encouraging and I look forward to my text from him each evening. He is easy to set up, use, and change. I have now learned what "habit stacking" is. So great.
@rachel_levitz Thanks Rachel! Glad you like it. The messages format is really the only thing that works for me. I wish apps worked for me because they are so pretty! But they usually just sit on my phone and never get used π
So happy to see this launched here!!!! I used a very early version, and Kayleigh has made some incredible upgrades since then.
I really believe this is the future of apps, everyone Iβve talked to says they are exhausted of every company/store/thing having an app, and the beauty of Harold is thereβs nothing to install.
Excited to try the new version! Congrats on the launch!!!! π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³
