Hi Hunters! πΊ
Just 8 months since we first introduced html.to.design and weβre already a top 20 Figma plugin with 380,000 users worldwide! Itβs been a while since weβve shared some of our work with the Product Hunt family, so here we are to present html.to.design 2.0!
So much has changed since our first launch, and we thought it was about time that we shared with you everything thatβs new. Whether itβs to redesign an old website, create benchmarks in Figma or scrap design assets from the web, html.to.design is your little superhero π¦Έ
This new version comes with:
Bulk imports
Import multiple pages at once.
An entire user journey can be captured in a few seconds, ready to be annotated or redesigned.
Multi-viewport
Import mobile, tablet and desktop viewports in one shot.
Start redesigning in responsive right away!
Multi-theme
Import both Light and Dark themes side by side.
Text and color styles generation
Still in beta, this feature creates local Figma styles for color and text.
Your redesign can benefit from design tokens out-of-the-box!
Even higher quality of transformation
We made hundreds of improvements in the transformation to Figma layers. html.to.design supports more sophisticated CSS capabilities and we greatly improved the layer naming and layer structure so it's easier to navigate and work with the layer tree itself in Figma!
Ready to give our new version a try? Weβd love to hear what you think π html.to.design
@georges_gomes Thank you!! I've been using html.to.design in my workflow, and it's saved me so much time. Can't wait to use the updated version. I'm particularly excited about the text feature and the structure. These were my only pain points.
Congrats on the launch, and keep up the good work! β¨
Wow, a very great concept indeed, congratulations on the new updates to the plugin Georges and team!
Is there some video tutorial about the usage of the plugin that I can watch to better understand the capabilities of this plugin?
Just used it on the Product Hunt site and it replicated it really well. My only complaint is that it took a while to load and some launches spilled over past the page border, with only the main page fully in white (I know I explained that horribly lol). Otherwise, it worked like a charm! Pretty cool plugin!
Great concept! Can users select specific components or sections of a website they like? I often get inspiration from multiple websites and like to take the best parts of each one.
It sounds like a cool idea, especially to discuss a design or maybe even copy a style and map it to your brand. Do you plan also the other way around? Figma to Tailwind for example :D
It's amazing to see how much the plugin has improved in such a short time! Not only are websites rendered much better now, but you also get all these awesome extra features, like importing multiple items at once and my favorite, generating text and styles. It used to be a lot of manual work, copying website screenshots and recreating them in Figma frame by frame. But now, it's all done automatically, which is mind-blowing π€― This plugin is a real game-changer for designers and saves so much time and effort.
This is one of the best design help tools I've encountered. It has saved me hours of time trying to create templates from scratch. I'm incredibly excited about the text feature.
I love this idea! When designing, I always look at dribbble for inspiration but the designs there don't always cut it. This goes the extra mile to allow us to truly find the exact inspiration we want.
Loving this! π Also don't sleep on the other tools by divRIOTS, especially story.to.design if you're already using Storybook... or Backlight.dev if you need tooling to start your own Design System!
Great work everybody! π
This is a game-changer for designers! I can't wait to see people try out html.to.design 2.0's new features like bulk imports and text/color styles generation. Importing entire websites into Figma is next level.
