💥finally! This is the way it should've always worked; wish I had this when we last bought.
Pretty cool. RF started out pretty similar to this and morphed into a more traditional brokerage over time. Do you think the time is finally right where people will be comfortable with a more hands off approach?

I think it is indeed a delicate balance to strike, once which we are treading carefully. While it is easy to say "buying a home should be instant, without human interaction and extra fees" (and technically possible through the Hutsy platform as of even today), we've seen more than 90% of our customers prefer to opt for the hybrid solution. We retain the humanistic elements (of an agent going down to show you homes, guide you through the process etc), but revamped the boring parts of documents, transfer of information, redundant back and forth etc. This way, you get the best of both worlds!
I can't answer if this will change drastically over the next 5-10 years, but we're positioned well to handle it either ways (this includes not scaling unnecessarily on agents as an easy form of customer acquisition, but rather empowering each of our few agents to be 'superhuman').

Congrats team! You guys are working very hard to make life easier for millennials like myself. Home buying seems very daunting to the point where I have pushed that far in the future, but until then would love to see something like this come up for rental properties! That process is even more painful

@ziahamza88 Totally understandable Hamza, we felt the same way and felt it was necessary to make home buying more accessible since it can be a very good decision emotionally and financially at the right time!

The situation with the virus is precarious and the market has indeed slowed down, with sellers and buyers preferring to stay at home than going for open houses (as they should since that would put them at risk of spreading the disease). We are working to navigate that situation with our home buyers to the best of our ability.
With regards to the recession, we are being reactive rather than proactive since that would allow us to make the best decision. Depending on how the mortgage rates change (usually lowered) and how different industries and locations are affected (real estate usually remains rather shielded during a recession, the '08/'09 crisis being an exception), our agents will be able to advice you accordingly, all of whom have been in the industry for many years and are experienced with market highs and lows.

Yes sure. We pre-hand pick agents in your neighborhood based on a variety of factors, including experience, ability to adapt quickly to changing market trends (as shown very necessary given the virus and market lull), familiarity with tech in their routine, and whether they share our vision for home buying. We interview all our agents to determine fit and integrate them to the platform to ensure as seamless of an experience as possible.
At the end of the day, we want to make sure that you are able to buy a home in the most convenient and comfortable manner, with someone experienced and highly capable to guide you through the process!
