Hey everyone! Murtaza here, co-founder of hyperPad. After more than a decade of development, we’re excited to launch hyperPad 2.0—our most powerful and feature-rich version yet! Our mission has always been to democratize mobile game development, making it accessible for anyone to create, share, and play games without needing to code. We believe the iPad’s intuitive interface is perfect for building, which is why we designed hyperPad’s visual, touch-based behavior system—so you can drag and drop logic to bring your ideas to life. With version 2.0, we’re launching support for 35 new languages and introducing the hyperPad Hub, a vibrant community where users can share their projects, get feedback, and connect with fellow creators.

This looks great @murtazasaadat :) Seems really powerful & simple to use. What's not clear to me if it's for making games just for iPad, or if we can also create games for iPhones or Mac too perhaps. It's true that the app is for iPad, but some might think whether they can use it for building games for iPhone too, and it's not written anywhere (or I didn't see it :). Congrats on the launch 🙌 All the best

@owenfar you can build for iPhone! You can test against different aspect ratios directly in the editor and there is a companion app on iPhone to play test your games there as well.

@murtazasaadat my kids (7yo twins) are massive scratch fans and make 3-4 games every day on it. I'm gonna try this out and see if they catch on. Its hard to tell what clicks with kids!

Congrats to your launch. I will try that with my 7yo daughter. She is so creative, it'll be hillarious.

@haribelafonte07 One of our early users started using hyperPad when he was 8, he started making simple things, but quickly began to learn more advanced computer science and engineering concepts. He became one of our first ambassadors. He's now 18, in college studying computer engineering, and getting paid to work on hyperPad as one of our interns! So your 7yo daughter may end up getting inspired and make some really awesome stuff!

Congrats on the launch! Is there an option to add custom scripts using Swift or Lua (or anything else)?
Murtaza Saadat
@semanser Due to apples restrictions thats not possible todo within the app.Though we are working on ways to make this possible. However, we do have a "Broadcast" and "Receive" behaviour that can communicate with outside code for when you export your project to XCode. In Xcode you can code in swift or objective C, and reference these behaviours inside your project. The limitations are you can't submit these extra bits of code to the hub, and you would have to test on the simulator. Additionally, you can use the HTTP Requests behaviours and connect to code being run on a server.

@murtazasaadat I've been looking for something just like this that I could work on with my kids. The fact that you can then publish the games to the app store is amazing. Thanks for sharing this. I'll definitely try it out!

Making games for the App Store feels much more possible now

Hey Murtaza! This is awesome and exactly what I've been looking for. Quick question tho - does hyperPad need you to have coding experience? I've got some ideas for a game but never coded before, so just wondering if that would hold me back. Thanks and congrats!
Murtaza Saadat
@elijahscottfitzgerald No coding required! We've replaced traditional coding with drag and drop behaviour blocks that connect together like a flowchart of actions and events. It's really simple to get started, but extremely powerful.

The fact that this app runs on the same robust engine used by top mobile games is super impressive!

This feels like a perfect mix for learning and having fun at the same time

Congrats on the launch! hyperPad sounds like a interesting game DIY tool. Does it mean that I can share my own games to App Store and other users can download and try them? If it is so, then there would be more games in App Store soon haha. Good luck!

hyperPad is an absolute game changer literally. It’s so refreshing to see a no code tool that’s powerful yet easy to use allowing anyone to build and publish their games. The drag and drop system is intuitive and the ability to import custom assets really helps personalize each project. I can see this becoming a must have for aspiring game developers.
