📖 Story
Hello Hunters and Makers, and thanks @kevin for hunting us :-)
it's story time! A while back we started working on an big update for Iconshock that involved adding brand new features to the icon customizing options already available on the platform.
In the process, we developed a simple but powerful tool to test out some features, customize icons with a variety of gradient palettes & download the personalized set, but we figured it would be cool to make it available to anyone who wanted to check them out while we finish the larger Iconshock update.
💪 Motivation
For a while now, gradients have been used on everything from backgrounds, buttons, headers & several UX elements, however icon design has been dominated by flat colors so far, we figured we may try to change that, so we focused on polishing this live editor tool with near 500 SVG icons and put it out there to show that the versatility of gradient colors also extends to icon design.
Here's a quick summary of what you can do with Gradientify:
🔥 480+ svg icons, ready to be customized and downloaded
✏️ An icon set packed with a ton of different industries & categories
📱 A simple yet powerful gradient editor interface with 100+ premade gradient variations
🎯 Create your own gradients & customize color shades precisely with our simple tool
🛠 You can copy the CSS code of your custom gradient
↔️ Option to swap the gradient color orientation
📥 Download your custom gradient icons in SVG & PNG formats!
We love to make icons & create new ways to personalize them so that anyone can make a set of their own, we hope the PH community loves these as much as we do, and as always any feedback you guys could send our way is much appreciated! :-)
Very nice style and interaction with the gradient options! Is there a way to put an exact color code in for the gradient options? I could edit the CSS, but the colors would not update.
@razvanilin it was there initially but working a bit buggy, it really needs that, let us work on that and update ;) would be far more useful if you can pick your specific colors.
Hey, @juanpablosarmi ! Just checked your product and want to say that the icons really stylish and unique! P.S. Can't stop playing with gradients😅. Congrats!
@alexanderolssen Thanks, remember you can use it as a gradient tester, and get the gradient CSS code ! you can also swap the direction, did you check ?
@samarpatel13 Samir, thanks for your feedback, actually we are working in such features (and more), do you think would be useful to be able to edit single icons too ? would appreciate a lot your thoughts about it...
@juanpablosarmi Allowing to download single icon with predefined colors would be great as users can get multi colored icons from same set of designs individually when they download all single ones.. Also if you want you can add a .99 cents editable SVG for single icons to come up with a new plan too.
@samarpatel13 Thanks, single icons download and edition seems the path to follow ! someone told us the icons could even work (in some scenarios) as logos, so with the individual plan we can even try a simple but useful logo editor !
@juanpablosarmi Instead of spending time and money on Logo Editor, I would say give them an editable blank templates or supporting vector files like fonts, example styles in a package that they download a single icon download.
Cool icons and the setup for the gradient works really well. Are there any plans so that you can import your own SVGs and then define the sections to take advantage of the customization?
@felipe_otalora thanks, it took us a lot to get to the final UX and the gradient tool.
Yes, next version, which is gonna be a big iconshock update, will have an option to upload your own SVGs, however, to define specific parts of a uploaded SVG is really really hard to achieve, as not all icons are build the same. So we'd need to define some kind of standard.
Fur sure we are thinking in all the option, any other idea or recommendation ?
@oliver_wolf lol! we have been there, I started with iconshock was created almost 15 years ago, thanks for your kind words, were you able to download ? everything works for you ?
@juanpablosarmi this set is great, it matches perfectly with the gradients. And the gradients... that's the best part, they're beautiful. Wondering how did you choose the palettes?
@collin_farra Hello, thanks for your kind words, we take a lot of time one curating and creating gradients from several online tools, and you are totally right. The key is to choose the perfect color palettes, otherwise it will looks weird. Feel free to use to try your own gradients on the fly. Did you check you can copy the css code ?
@juanpablosarmi If you have a description you would like me to put that can be cool. The icon I take the one from the website you can also send that if you want :)
It's so great. I love the landing page, and it lets you choose the colors you want for your icons, and also lets you download them with a few requests. There are a lot of available icons that you can use. It's really cool.
@lineicons@musharofchy Mushrad, thanks partner ! Line icons is quite a good project, I think we should work in something together ;) When do you plan to launch ?
@mark_donaldson Mark, yes, it taking a bit to download due to the huge load we are having, and the process has to colorize the icons on the fly and taking into account there are more than 500 icons per user! it's a lot to process, next version we will send a link to the email I guess.
I cannot believe that you made my dreams come true :) ... a good idea maybe, the same functionality but with users' uploaded icons... but meanwhile, I'll be happy using this pretty set and playing with that beautiful gradients the whole day, well done!
@hernandez_creativos Next version will include option to upload users' icons, however, there's a tricky issue with SVG code as we wont have control, but we are working on that with our team of ninjas ;) ;) !
