Intention is a web and mobile app that helps you plan your goals, and break them down into actionable tasks.

Really fantastic idea. Splitting up goals into smaller tasks and visualizing it is particularly good. You should also add a reward functionality so that as you complete certain tasks you can reward yourself with something, like a new video game, or whatever. Keep going!

Thanks very much Joshua! That's a really good idea, similar to the karma system in Todoist. I'll add it to my roadmap!

Great start! I spent 5 mins playing around. Thoughts on UX - My first impression is that the parent/sibling adding process is difficult to grasp in isolation. - I don't feel there is enough feedback when adding a parent/sibling. - It seems like a lot of work just to create a relational graph. Mind maps achieve this much more intuitively and quickly through direct graph interaction. - Having visible relation in the list view would also be beneficial. At best, maybe a small indent indicating a relation. Everything is at the same level which makes it less obvious. I don't know if this is by design however. Bugs - I can't create new intentions after having completed one, says "Save Failed! Something went wrong - please contact the developer." Good luck with the project!

Hey John, thanks very much for the feedback! To respond to your points on the UX: - Completely right, it's difficult to describe exactly how adding a sibling works in a concise way. I'm hoping to make this more intuitive in future, although I haven't figured out exactly how yet. - By feedback, do you mean some form of indication of "where you are" in the graph? The form does show the selected parents, but it's not immediately obvious. I'm planning to add a graph display to the add/edit page, which should give you a bit visual information. - I think having the data in a structured form does have some advantages, and is worth the small amount of extra effort. With structured data, you can do stuff like: recommend which intention to work on next, show statistics about how intentions were created/completed over time, and highlight areas that change frequently on the graph. I'm hoping to add some of these features soon, stay tuned :) - That's a really good idea. It's complicated by the fact that intentions can have multiple parents, but I can add an indicator of how far down the "hierarchy" the intention is. With regards to the bug, I think the problem is that you haven't added a parent to the new intention. The UX for this could definitely be improved, as could the error messages. Thanks again for the feedback!

Hey. Nice idea! I'm trying to log in in the web app but every time I try it, it redirects me to the login page again.
David Martin
@berke_canatar are you on Safari by any chance? I'm using Auth0 for login/authentication, and it seems to rely on 3rd party cookies which may be blocked in Safari. If you enable 3rd party cookies, it should work https://www.clubrunnersupport.co...
Berke Canatar
@davewm No I'm using Brave, which is similar to Chrome. I'll give permission to 3rd party cookies and try again.
David Martin
@berke_canatar I've just tested it on Brave, you should just have to "allow all" cookies. Apologies for that, I'll see if Auth0 have a workaround or fix.
David Martin
@berke_canatar This should be resolved now, sorry it took so long!

Hello everyone! Intention is a web app for helping you achieve your goals by breaking them up into actionable tasks. It's available on the web and on the Play Store. You first enter your high level goals (e.g. get fit, make more money, etc.), then break them down into sub-tasks, then in turn break those down into sub-tasks, and so on. Eventually you get down to small, actionable tasks that you can tackle. In this way, you create a list of actionable tasks, and can visualise how they relate to your high-level goals. I'm just a solo developer, so any comments or feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks

Big fan of this idea, I currently do something similar on paper but I like the graph visualization!

Thanks Grant!
