Super cool. I'm in the process of decorating my newish condo and would love to use this to create custom wall art. @davitmasia, do you have a trial version of the app available?
Davit Masia PixelArt
@rrhoover Yep, there are some Demo versions you can test to see if work on your machine and for your needs ;) .

@davitmasia @rrhoover This is an awesome product! I love the idea of using it to create custom wall art! It will look great when it's framed and hanged on the wall. I'm also definitively going to try it out for some of my art projects. Davit thanks for the great product and Ryan thanks for the idea!

This is so cool @davitmasia! What made you want to build this?
Davit Masia PixelArt
@amrith Well, this started as a small 1Bit conversion tool for a 3D project using 1Bit textures with some effects. Then i was updating for fun and added colors and palettes and saw that worked i 8-Bit much better than i thought. Also adding all kind of features received from my followers on twitter like Batch procesing or video exporter. After been sold on an assets packs bundle and got the sales increased a lot and see the people interest i started to work full time on it to release in 2018 the standalone version for Win/Mac/linux. And here we are, the app is starting to be featured in various sites that obvious helps me to get some visibility, so thanks to Pete , who added my tool here :P .

@davitmasia Interesting! Thanks for sharing :)

@davitmasia It was my pleasure hunting your product. Also, thanks for building this cool tool! Bienvenido a la comunidad de Product Hunt. 😀
David
@davitmasia Every time I export it (on demo mode) I just get a cropped picture that is about 20% of the original image. Anyway to fix this?
David
@davitmasia Also, this is amazing and exactly what I've been looking for - will be willing to buy it if I can get this issue fixed. Thanks.
Tracy
@david_mtell Hello, did you find the way to solve your problem? I have the same question :)

This is the good tool. Can be used for led bars drawing. Convert picture to 8bit/Pixel style, upload on your led bar and draw it. Do you think to have an app for this product?
Davit Masia PixelArt
I just wanna say PixaTool has been done from scratch with a new UI allowing load external palettes in .pal format and removing the size limitation, so now you can work with 4k images or higher. Also now the app adapt to any monitor resolution without scale!!! https://kronbits.itch.io/pixatool

@davitmasia How do updates work? If I new version is pushed, do I get an email to download it? As annoying as the Mac Appstore is, this is one of the benefits for me (auto updating apps)!
Davit Masia PixelArt
@khalidadil_ No more updates are planed, but in that case you will receive a link into your email to download any new version.

Just to say PixaTool got a price drop as announced month ago, the price is $9.95 as people voted in the twitter poll weeks ago.

Very good concept but unfortunately to much lag on my macbook pro 2014. I will keep an eye on the project and will be happy to buy it if the lag issue is fixed.
Davit Masia PixelArt
@daynox Hi whats your problem? The Apps is HTML5 using NW.JS as wrapper using WebGL for Shaders/Filters. See if your Mac not have the GPU blacklisted or similar that makes run slowly. Various people tested on a macBook Pro from 2011-2013 without problems. Tested Both demos? Same issue?
Doureyd Khelalef
@davitmasia Thx I will give it an other try and come back to you. Edit: I tried again with both version and it still feel laggy. I also checked if my GPU was blacklisted but it wasn't. Like I said before, I will be happy to try again future version. Good luck :)

Hello, when I change the parameters "Pixelate W" and "Pixelate H", the image I exported will be smaller. For example, if I set these two parameters as 2, the 256*256 original image will change to 128*128(on demo mode). How to solve it? @davitmasia
Davit Masia PixelArt
@new_user_133da7a995 This is how works. You will export always at 1:1 ratio. This means that if you add a 512x512 image and set 4 on Pixelte W/H the exported image will be 128x128, due 512/4=128.
Tracy
@davitmasia Okay...I got it. I want to make a pixel art character map in game, so I can't change the size of it. A little pity :(

Ahh where was this when I was building games!?
