Hi everyone! We have been building Jabord incognito, and are in the process of launching to a more broad audience. Beyond just gaining users, I would really love to know what people think, where we can improve, and where we nailed it! Looking forward!
Just to give a little more background and context to our mission at Jabord.
I started working for Jabord as its first employee while I was an intern for another company our founder owns. Since then, we have been fully dedicated to Jabord's mission.
So, what is Jabord? and how did we get started?
My Story:
I was just coming out of college with a computer engineering degree, and I knew I wanted to be surrounded by technology, but not coding per se. When looking for my first job, I applied to many, with aspirations to work for Google mostly. I even spoke to 2 current employees to get that referral push, but I didn't make it past a first-level phone interview with a recruiter. I thought to myself, "I am clearly doing something wrong". I have the fancy degree, I have had a few internships showing that I am a hard worker and a team player, why wouldn't Google take the chance on me? I wanted to do something about it.
Our Founder's Story:
Having owned two other tech companies for over 20 years, and with an added staffing arm to the business, the companies have recruited over 5000 people across the USA for internal and external placement. He was tired of the inefficiencies in the recruiting process. Reference requests come in at different times is just one example of how a simple process should be all centralized instead of over 3 emails with a waiting period of 2 weeks. He wanted to do something about it.
The idea of Jabord was born:
With my drive on creating the best experience and set of tools for candidates and our founder's drive on the company side, we sought to make a platform that gives the best experience for both sides of the equation.
So, what is Jabord (finally)?
-You can think of us as a Job Board + ATS (Applicant Tracking System) in one. We are building an end-to-end platform that both the candidate and company can stay on for the duration of the process.
-Because we are bringing both parties to the platform, we own the process which allows us to modernize it. We have created the standardized and very professional Jabord Resume for the candidate to brand themselves and track the views and have created Company Profile Pages which allow companies to add an unlimited amount of information about the company and job with the use of multimedia.
-Pull this all together with a job search, company search, talent search, job syndication, career resources, etc. and we have a platform dedicated to recruiting with the privacy and control that you need without it being a social network.
Specifically, in regard to the Jabord Resume:
-It is Private (we provide links and QR codes that you can share with anyone)
-You can start it off by importing your LinkedIn info
-We encourage you to introduce yourself on video, add work samples, and extras about yourself such as hobbies, cultural aspects to you.
-We have created a very useful tagging system that you can set up to allow the viewer to filter through your resume with skills bubbled up
-Imagine a recruiter trying to learn about you from a PDF but instead able to see everything come to life about you, and with ease?
