Save links, write notes, and organize files and messages from all your apps in one place.
Searching Slack, Dropbox, Evernote, Box, Google Drive, Gmail from one bar - and it works! Pretty cool..
Pros:All your search in one place!
Cons:Mobile app! :(
I love Journal, and am thrilled at how much it will help me with my work. I am always in the middle of 4-6 projects that are ongoing and can't be completed in one sitting. These are diverse projects and require different resources. So what typically happens is that I end up with about 50 browser windows open just waiting for me to get back to that particular project. Inevitably this freezes up the computer and . . . well, you know the rest of that story. Spaces give me a way to keep all of these projects and their associated resources organized and readily available without clogging up my RAM. It really is already an invaluable tool for the way I work. And it's so easy and intuitive to learn.
Pros:Intuitive, user-friendly, efficient
Cons:none found yet
Was lucky to be a part of the beta. Overall I love the UI. It feels like Trello and Slack colluded to replace Chrome Bookmarks. I could definitely see dumping the dated browser bookmark system for Journal just based on the link+space system alone. The search feels very Slack like and is great. If I got enough stuff in here I could see setting this as a default browser homepage.
Pros:- Great UI (think Trello/Slack)
- Major improvement on dated browser bookmark systems
- The search just works and is very Slack-like
Cons:- Will require some set up time to make this your go to organizer but most things work right out of the box.
I've been using Journal mainly to compile PhD notes, websites and files. I find it so easy to use, especially via the Chrome extension. The ability to search through files and links is a definite pro and saves me heaps of time. I'm looking forward to seeing which new features are added soon.
Pros:Easy to use, visually appealing, browser extension and search function are great.
Cons:Would like ability to file under Space subcategories via extension.
I love using Journal to save articles and organize my thoughts. When I’m starting to write an article, create a framework, or want to know more about a topic, I’ll usually have information all over in the place — this allows me to centralize my thoughts and still use other tools. The Chrome widget works well too. If I find an article I like, I’ll usually save it in Journal in one of the space and follow up on it later.
I’d like to see a few things added in the short term:
* better markdown support for images and links.
* Ability to drag-n-drop docs from one space (or search panel) to another space
* safari extension
* resolve some latency issues in the Mac app
I’ve been using the tool in the early beta and seeing it progress to this point has been a pleasure. The team is working hard to make this the central tool when it comes to organizing your stuff, and I can see the bright future ahead. Keep up the good work!
Pros:quickly save articles; quickly find info; make quick notes; spaces are great for organizing thoughts; use markdown for notes
Cons:markdown image support; adding in spaces is a bit clunky;
Good product
Pros:Works well, fast and very easy. Functionally ideal for saving and finding information
Cons:Mobile integration using smartphones would be great
I have long been looking for a simple productivity tool - clean & simple, which gives a basic structure without making me plan my every activity every day for the next several months. (I'm a creative who thrives off working with *some* structure, with freedom to meander).
I came across Journal via Medium, and I liked it. Then I liked it even more when I jumped on a call with founder, Sam, who nudged me in the direction of making it even more useful for me.
I didn't ever think I'd find a digital productivity solution for my free-thinking, creative self. I was wrong. Journal is the one.
Pros:- Clean, minimalistic interface
- Use of emojis (I love an emoji)
- Intuitive
- Integrates with GoogleDocs
Cons:- none so far!
Heyday
