Love the concept! I've been doing audio journals on my basic audio recorder for a while and it's usually a pain to categorize them. With this, that could change. Excited to use this daily!!
Lamia
@rarified Thank you so much, Saad! 👊🏼

Hi all! Please meet Journify - a fun way of recording your life's journey, powered by your own voice. We have been talking about journaling for a long time, but many of us have quit after a few attempts because it’s hard to find the time. Recording our life updates on our smartphones is a much easier and intuitive experience. We’ve been sending each other voice notes for a while now, so now we get to keep a record of our memories. I love seeing entrepreneurs, creatives, writers, coaches, students and engineers finding different use cases for the Journify app! Journaling has been clinically linked with reducing tension, anxiety, and depression, and boosting mindfulness and creativity. It's also been associated with a stronger immune system, higher IQ, and a better ability to discern priorities. I fell in love with audio journaling because I was able to quickly turn it into a habit. My Journify timeline now has the story of my journey as an entrepreneur (real talk). We just launched and would love to get your thoughts. Also, please let us know what are the features you would like to see next. Thank you!

I've been looking for a product like this!
Lamia
@ayoolajohn_ This is so cool to hear 🔮

What's your privacy policy? Hope all recording are encrypted and you can't listen to our entries!!
Lamia
@pranit Yep! all encrypted and we can't listen to them.

This is a very helpful product, especially for the daily check ins!
Bernie Klein
Very nice idea! Have tried to write diaries a number of times and can't stick with it. Hopefully talking is easier :)
Lamia
@bernie_klein I had the same experience. Let me know in a few days if you were able to get into it please :)
Dhruv Sahi
I've been using it on a daily basis to jot down my thoughts, record what's going on in my life, and as a way to quickly record ideas. The mental wellness angle, especially the burnout quiz are also great features!
Lamia
@dhruvyy Do you then share the ideas you record with other people? And if so, would it be useful to be able to do that in text format?
Dhruv Sahi
@lamiapf Yes! Speech to text transcribing would be something I would love. I could then share my recordings, and maybe even search through them easily!
Andrea Quercio
Great app! I have been using it for a while now and I love it. My favourite feature is the daily check-in because I can easily keep track of my sleep, motivation and energy. Can't wait to see future updates!
Lamia
@andrea_quercio1 Thank you for the feedback, Andrea!
Justin Scott
Excited to put this in front of everyone. Also curious to see if you have any other ideas that aren't on the list. Thanks for the support!

Finding Journify really cathartic as I haven't been able to see my friends as much in lockdown, so it has really helped being able to vent out loud and get a bit of perspective on everything. The mental wellness tracker is super helpful too as I sometimes forget how I've been feeling, and to be able to look back and see how I've been doing is really good for me!
Lamia
@helena_milsom Thank you for your feedback Helena! Since you've used the wellness tracker, what other categories would you like to add? Anxiety, stress, etc?
Helena Milsom
@lamiapf yess for me anxiety would be useful as that’s something I struggle with and it definitely fluctuates, so being able to track it with other factors would be so useful for finding what triggers me and how I can help to manage it!
Robi G. O'Cleirigh
Great app... Always wanted to get into journaling more but writing on paper has never really appealed to me. I can now make audio updates and entries anytime anywhere :)
Lamia
@robi_g_o_cleirigh Hi Robi, thank you for this! You mentioned before it would be helpful for you to be able to download transcripts, right? We're QAing that and will be live next week!
Katie Talbot
I've been using Journify to create an audio journal of what's going on in my life, how I feel day-to-day & my creative ideas... and it's so great! It is super easy to organise and save journal entries, and I love the mental wellness tracking feature. 10/10 thanks Journify :)
Lamia
@katie_talbot1 thank you so much, Katie! What do you think would be the most helpful next feature for you?
Katie Talbot
@lamiapf no problem! Being able to see transcripts of my entries would be cool! This is a minor suggestion though as the app already suits my preferences and lifestyle really well!
maya escobar
I absolutely love Journify! I'm using it to track my physical therapy progress. It's really helping me hold myself accountable.
Lamia
@maya_escobar So glad to hear you're keeping track of your health journey with Journify. This is a new use case, too!
Lydia Winkfield
So getting good sleep plays a key role in my mental health, I'm always lucid dreaming or tossing and turning. I love that with Journify I can track my sleep and realise that I'm not crazy, just tired! I've also been using the audio journaling feature to record my dreams as they can be pretty strange and funny to look back on! Would definitely recommend this app to people who are pretty busy but still want to look after their mental health!
Lamia
@lydia_winkfield recording dreams is something I hadn't heard for Journify before. Amazing and thanks for sharing!
Lamia
@lydia_winkfield Also, would you be open to sharing this in a blog post for the journify.co/blog-burnout-lab? Thank you!
Alessandra Verme
My most productive and creative-thinking time is usually as soon as I wake up, so I tend to flood my co-workers whatsapp with voice notes as early as 6 am... Journify lets me vent without bothering them... and then lets me send all of my thoughts at a more prudent timming :)
Lamia
@alessandra_verme Great use case! And so nice of you to think of your coworkers' wellbeing. If only....🤯

July 7th 2020. Dear diary, I don't need you anymore. I found Journify. As an additional bonus, people can stop looking at me weird for speaking to my notebook. I mean what's better than audio for journaling? Do you kid yourself that you'll get a tricked out quill and spend hours scribbling away into the night like you're Hermoine or Ned Stark or something? Come on people. The writing isn't just on the wall - it's in an audio file. Seriously, you can keep lying to yourself that you'll write everyday, or you can get Journify.
Matt O'Connor
Feature request, transcribe my audio journal notes and then have an AI read them back to me as Patrick Stewart's Capt Picard
Lamia
@matt_r_o_connor haha we promised to be customer centric, so you'll be the first one to know when this becomes available. Honestly, I hate my voice so I would also love to get a different one to read me my journals.🤳🏻
Matt O'Connor
Feature request, transcribe my audio journal notes and then have an AI read them back to me as Patrick Stewart's Capt Picard. "Captain's Log..."
Brooke Wiener
Love this product! I used to love journaling in a notebook but have seriously bad carpal tunnel in both wrists. Journify lets me continue to journal without any pain!!
Lamia
@brooke_a There you go! You also don't need to carry the notebooks around (they can get a bit heavy over time) but still use them occasionally if you don't want to completely transition.
Anna Ratala
LOVE this! I’ve been audio journaling for a while and Journify is by far the best app out there! Love the tags function and that I can share my updates with my friends if I choose to. Looking forward to transcriptions ;)
Lamia
@oatmilklatteceo This is so great to hear! Since we're both in the audio space, we should talk about potential collaborations. Also, I'm with you on the oat milk lattes :)
Jibran Akhtar
This is awesome. I find writing takes too much time and I have never been able to keep up with it. I just downloaded Journify and did my first entry expecting to delete the app midway through the recording, but I actually really enjoyed it. Great UX, keeps things simple and I like the fact that you can add tags. Hopefully one day it will transcribe the audio file to text, which would be great if I were to one day create a book of my audio entries.
Jibran Akhtar
Also, I think you have a typo in your burnout questionnaire. Question 2 option 3, it says "too busy but others I make a point..." I think you guys meant to put "otherwise?" If not, then just ignore this :)
