I was under the impression that it is not possible to record concurrently from both cameras on the phone. I actually got a refund on a Gagster I commissioned based upon that finding. Would be incredibly curious to find out how they are accomplishing that (i.e.. does it require a jailbreak)? Great Idea though, would be interested in seeing actual output.
@jmacias you are right, currently it's not possible to record videos with both cameras on an iPhone. As I said in a previous question, with the two lenses we're able to capture 360 degrees photos, but for videos we use only one of the cameras. The lenses we use have a very wide field of view so the immersive effect for videos is really good. We'll make it clear in our Kickstarter campaign that you won't be able to capture 360 degrees videos. We're preparing a demo page with output examples.
Is this an attachment I put on my phone which lets me shoot VR? From the pictures it looks like two cameras, but I thought VR required several more cameras to get a 360 angle.
@eportnoy The two lenses are for 360 degrees photos. For videos it's only possible to use one camera at a time. That said, the immersive effect achieved with just one of the lenses is the equivalent of looking around while you're sitting on a chair and the end result is really good. We'll try to make all of that cristal clear in our Kickstarter campaign.
Hi, one of the co-founders here. We’ve just launched a few hours ago our product on Kickstarter and we are getting a fair amount of attention there but we would love to receive feedback here in Product Hunt and answer any questions you might have.
