Hi PH folks, coming from a product design background I wanted to build my apps. With the advent of AI, I used ChatGPT to create my first app - Kabit. I am excited that I got to create this app with no coding experience and was impressed with Gpt's ability to translate my designs into actual UIs. Why kabit? I have used a lot of habit-tracking apps and most of them are filled with features that are not useful to me, sometimes UI is a mess etc. I wanted to build an app that was simple and useful. I wasn't sure about GPT ability but wanted to give it a try. There was a lot of trial and error, especially in figuring out the logic of the streak counter, which took a lot of time. I have spent some time polishing the UI as well. Although not a perfect app, I think I have a good tracker. I am planning to add more features and would love to know your thoughts and feedback. Thanks

Hey Rahul, really cool concept! This looks like exactly what I need. Thanks for sharing. Just one quick question - since you mentioned that you used ChatGPT to build Kabit, do I need any coding experience to make my own customizations? I'm not a coder myself and would like to know if I could still tweak things on my end. Congrats on the launch!
Rahul Rao
@michaelgreen thanks. Depends on the functionality and UX you'd like to implement. I don't have coding experience but can understand some syntaxes. The best way for you to know is to start tinkering and see what AI comes up with :)

Thank you, Emily. I strived for simplicity as much as I could in the design phase. That helped I guess

@big_tree Thank you for your kind words. I was surprised when I uploaded a screen of my design and gpt could roughly translate it into code. From there I knew its the matter of prompts and tweaks to get what I wanted

This could really help me stay consistent with my habits. How do you handle motivation dips?
Rahul Rao
@william_jin Thank you :) I struggle with this from time to time. One simple solution I have found is to focus only on 2 or 3 habits and use kabit to mark it as done. Hope this helps

Wow, Kabit looks great! It's impressive that you were able to create this app with no coding experience using ChatGPT. The minimalist design and focus on simplicity are refreshing in a market often crowded with feature-heavy habit trackers. I appreciate the clean UI and the emphasis on core functionality. The streak counter is a crucial feature for habit tracking, so it's good to hear you invested time in getting that right. Some feedback to consider: 1. While simplicity is a strength, you might want to consider adding a few customization options to cater to different user preferences. 2. Integration with other apps or services could enhance Kabit's utility. Perhaps syncing with calendar apps or offering widgets for easier tracking. 3. Consider implementing a data visualization feature to help users see their progress over time. This could be a simple graph or chart. 4. A gentle reminder system might be beneficial for users who need a little extra nudge to maintain their habits. Compared to other products in the market, Kabit's strength lies in its simplicity. However, popular apps like Habitica or Streaks offer gamification elements that some users find motivating. You might explore if there's a way to incorporate light gamification without compromising Kabit's clean design. Overall, great job on your first app! It's exciting to see AI-assisted development enabling more people to bring their ideas to life. Looking forward to seeing how Kabit evolves.
