LOL @ the Tinder streaming use case in your App Store screenshots.
I actually didn't know this was technically possible on iOS. Well done, @ethreep0 and team!
@rrhoover its such a good use case! people love that one so far, but I think there are many many others that have more potential, across a lot of audiences.
@joshdance you can stream the phone's screen on iPhone if you connect your phone to a computer. In practice many of our top broadcasters do this and add overlays to their stream as well.
So is this basically twitch.tv but for your mobile screen? Any ability to stream in private rooms as well? Can you use front facing cameras at the same time?
@colemercer yes, the front facing camera plays a huge part of the experience! Each stream has facecam, voice overlay, and of course the screen. we haven't added private rooms yet, but it's definitely something we're considering.
I'm a huge fan because I was talking with my friend @framp about building this...but then we googled and found Kamcord with lots of kids streaming clash of clans :D
Hey folks! I'll be checking the page throughout the day to answer your questions :) Happy to answer questions on the product, share thoughts on influencer marketing, or discuss the live streaming space at large.
For those looking to try streaming instead of just viewing, you can stream directly from Android 5.0+ devices! If you're on iPhone, you need to connect to a computer in order to stream.
@bentossell for Apple devices, you need to connect to a computer in order to stream to Kamcord. We're different than Vidyo in that we are an entertainment platform first and foremost. Our goal was not to create a tool, but rather to build an amazing community around a totally new type of live streaming content.
Seems to be a cool product, is this a thing for gaming industry like? But you can stream everything on your phone, like you watching Snapchats from friends, or navigating thru Facebook?
@gabrielreynard we got our start in gaming but expanded aggressively into non-gaming verticals when we observed users sharing new types of content. The dominant use cases we see is creators interacting with fans through social media. For example, it's very common for YouTube influencers to open fan Snapchats in stream and answer questions.
@tombielecki the fans are actually watching the stream and sending the snaps with messages to be showed in stream. So far it's been an amazing interaction that streamers and fans have loved
