Kanaria is a product on RMRK, the standard to add NFTs to blockchains without smart-contract logic. Kanaria is a test-in-production tech demo of an NFT ICO launchpad that we plan to release as a common good, and are currently using to fundraise.

Maker here. I made the RMRK standard in August last year when I noticed the NFT craze was heating up again, felt like it would be a shame for a blockchain as art and cypherpunk as Kusama to miss out on it. So I hacked NFTs onto it even without smart contracts, inspired by the colored coins approach on Bitcoin from ages ago. A couple of teams stepped up to the task of implementing the UIs for the standard but a few months ago I realized we need to raise the bar so a full time team was formed around the RMRK effort and as the product of our nightly labor we published Kanaria. Kanaria is safe to use even without smart contracts on any of the hundreds of upcoming Substrate-based blockchains with or without smart contracts. We also added in some innovations that no other NFT system currently has: - NFTs owning NFTs. - NFTs affecting how other NFTs look. - NFTs adding utility to platforms. - NFTs sharing revenue. - NFTs reacting to on-chain emotions. It's all pretty wild and I'm really excited to show you how we can take NFTs from digital dust-gathering props to functional, long-lasting utilities that can build an entire ecosystem on reusability and evolveability.
