Enter Kyugo, a breakthrough in the world of task applications.
Why not redefine how you perceive and utilize time? Start setting your clock – your time zone, right now with Kyugo – and experience the power of time on your terms.
Hello, ProductHunt community 👋,
for the past 5 months, we worked hard to improve and redefine Kyugo, which we see as a breakthrough in the world of task applications.
Original Kyugo was all about work-life balance.
But we realized one thing.
Work-life balance is a lie. 🤯
There's no universal rule to achieve it. Each of us is unique.
Traditional time management often feels like a burden, an endless series of checkboxes waiting to be ticked. ☑️☑️☑️
But what if we could perceive time as a superpower? A unique freedom to choose what moments to prioritize?
You choose how to live.
Kyugo allows you to customize your day to what your life and its tasks mean to you. Visualize your day your way, not be dictated by what your phone tells you to do. Remember, you have the power to define what a task is. 🧘♂️
We believe in transforming your daily routine from a checklist of tasks to a visual masterpiece. Time is your canvas, not a burden, and Kyugo gives you the superpower to define it on your terms. 🚀
Kyugo is not just a calendar app; it's a revolutionary approach to reclaiming your time, where each moment becomes a brushstroke on your personal canvas of life. 🧑🎨
Embrace the fluidity of your day. Define tasks, events, and priorities in a way that suits your unique lifestyle.
Plan, adapt, and visualize your time that resonates with your work and life balance.
Welcome to a world where guilt is replaced by choice, and your day is a work of art in progress.
Kyugo was born – a more visual and intuitive way to plan your day. ❤️
What's new in this version:
✅ Apple Calendar integration
✅ Android version
✅ Rename your layers to whatever you care about currently in life
✅ Set fixed daily blocks or don't have any fixed times per layer separately
✅ All-day events
✅ Improved UX
✅ Performance upgrade
Not all time is equal tho. The first hours are more powerful than the last. You can solve harder things etc. Have you looked into this? or is it out of scope?
@sentry_co we did look into this very closely since I'm a big fan of biohacking and all things related to circadian rhythm. But we found out, that each of us is truly unique. So the 1.0 version was more strict in what you mentioned, but this time, it's more about freedom and defining your day, your way. But we're still working on a connection to Apple Health, so we can craft some recommendations based on your sleep.
Congratulations, it's really cool UI and UX, after a brief period of use, I have several pieces of feedback:
1. It starts up a bit slow: It could be due to network issues, as there's a 4-5 second delay on a blank view when I launch the app, which is quite noticeable.
2. The font size for tips is too small, making it hard to read.
3. When the new user guide got to the "what do you care about?" view, I couldn't proceed. All the buttons were clickable, but the view wouldn't switch to the next step. It was only after I killed the current process and reopened it that I realized there should be a Next button at the bottom right of that step, but for some reason, it didn't appear the first time I entered.
@rick_fan thanks for the feedback! We worked on the performance quite a lot, still room for improvement.
Thanks for the #3 – the next button only appears when you give names to both of the layers, otherwise you can't proceed
@tom_garcy
maybe it’s because I already tried the first version 🙃
Maybe you should restart it for us, mainly because most of the people in product and are like me
Kyugo 2.0 sounds like a game-changer! I love the idea of visualizing my day in my own unique way. Can you tell me more about the features that make Kyugo stand out from other task applications? Also, have you considered integrating any productivity techniques like Pomodoro or Time Blocking into the app? Keep up the great work!
@dmytrosem, thank you!
The circular calendar is more intuitive. Time-blocking for certain types of events was something we've been looking for for a long time. Also, the auto-planner, which finds the time for an event automatically takes away the cognitive overload we all encounter.
The whole app is built on Time Blocking, might be an interesting idea to look at Pomodoro as well.
Big fan of anything that re-thinks the calendar interface... very cool concept!
Interestingly, I'm less excited about Kyugo as a planning tool—probably because I feel that planning is tedious, this visualization doesn't seem conducive to easy planning, and it's a pretty high cognitive load to learn a new interface/framework for calendar planning.
That being said, I'm VERY excited about it as a time management/tracking tool and wonder which direction you'll lean into. I have a lot of projects going on at both work and in life, and this seems like a good visualization to get a sense for the time I'm spending in different areas of my life (which seem to be limited to Work, Life, and Meet right now?). The visualization is actually very data-rich when you use it for time-blocking. For example in the monthly calendar view: besides telling where I spend the bulk of my time, I can even tell things like when I get started in the morning, how late I usually work, what my most "active" work hours are, what days I tend to be less productive, etc. It'd be cool if I could track these things across whatever projects or categories I want!
Anyway, really love this creative solution to calendaring—definitely think the concept has its superpowers and kryptonites that suit it to certain use cases, and I'm excited to see where y'all take it!
@nic_seo_ thanks so much for such detailed feedback, Nicole! We strongly believe that Kyugo should be a time management tool. But it's up to you how you use it. In this new version, you can even rename the layers to what suits you.
Hey 👋,
just wanted to let you know, that we reduced the pricing substantially.
from the very beginning, your subscription was not a source of revenue for us.
It was funding the next version we keep working on.
But we heard your feedback, that the pricing is too high for a new indie product, so we decided to lower the subscription by 70% to just $2.99 per month, after a 30-day free trial.
We want more people to be in charge, to rebel against the traditional productivity tools, and to define their day their way.
We hope it's gonna be easier now!
Oh wow, this view induced stress in me automatically just from seeing how a full schedule could show up. This would be great to incentivize reduced meetings!
Ever thought of marketing it to change management companies and consultancies? (Asking as I've had one)
Have a great launch!
Congratulations on the launch. Okay, I've planned and visualized my day. What about conclusions? Are the conclusions for me, or does the app provide recommendations?
The transformation of Kyugo into a tool that empowers users to redefine their relationship with time is intriguing. The idea of perceiving time as a superpower and visualizing it as a personal canvas is truly revolutionary. I'm curious – with the introduction of features like Apple Calendar integration and Android version, how have users responded to the new Kyugo experience, and have there been any standout use-cases that showcase the impact on their daily routines?
The app looks very nice and seems intuitive to use.
However, on Android, I was not able to get through the tutorial, as it was somehow buggy. When it said, "Swipe to see the afternoon," I tried swiping in each and every direction, and nothing happened, so I had to skip the tutorial.
Also, I would like to split my time up into more than three sections - do you plan to allow more than three in the future?
Congrats on your launch and on this idea, I really like it! ✨
@tom_garcy I would love customizable layers as, at least for me, my priorities change from time to time.
I personally would also like to be able to split layers, e.g., I would split the "work" layer into several layers like "programming," "administration," and specific layers for projects I'm working on.
But this may be a personal preference, I don't know what other users would prefer - maybe you could do a poll and ask your users. :)
This looks really great. The visuals of a schedule reimagined as a physical clock is a refreshing take on the boring linear schedules.
I used your Android app and it seems that its slow to load? I hope I wasn't the only one. Also the tutorials didn't work for me sometimes, for example when I am instructed to swipe to see the afternoon. I'm not sure if that was intended as a real-time dynamic tutorial or not.
I appreciate the work you've put into the little things people forget while creating a thumb navigation based UX, like left handed users etc. I'll be following your progress as I am curious to see the new features you have in store like Wind down.
Congrats on the launch!
