@kevin Thanks a bunch for hunting us! Hello Product Hunters, This is Jay, the Co-Founder of LambdaTest. It's great to be back here, and we're thrilled to share our new productโ€” a developer-friendly browser that is meant to help you build responsive websites or web-applications in a trice.๐Ÿš€ The year 2020 has been a crazy year for everyone. As teams across the world kickstarted the new phase in work from home culture, they realized that the "in-house" device labs were not that "in-house" anymore. To help these teams, we created LT Browser, a desktop application that will help you Instantly View, Build, and Debug your website on 45+ mobile, tablet, & desktop resolutions. Whether it's an iPhone, iPad, Samsung, or even a MacBook, you get all the resolutions in the LT browser !! And if your website is not working well on any device, you can leverage the integrated developer tools to debug your issue. And not just live websites, you can check your locally hosted website's responsiveness as well. Record videos of a complete test flow, check how your website performs on different network speeds, even run a performance report of your website with a click of a button. Give it a shot, and let me know what you like in it and what you believe we should add !!! Also, to celebrate the launch, we have a special offer for all Product Hunters. Use coupon code: PH20 to get an exclusive discount of 20% on all our annual paid plans.

@kevin @jay_0687 interesting. what tech stack do you use?
Jay Singh
Hey @vladojsem This application was built using Electron Framework as base with ReactJS for frontend and Golang for backend. Also used Lighthouse.

@kevin @jay_0687 Just downloaded this and I am impressed!
Ankita Tibrewall
@kevin @jay_0687 Running up emulators for each device was a serious overhead that I was facing. Glad to see its this much easy.

@kevin @jay_0687 This is awesome! Just downloaded the app and it is super easy to use. Thanks for introducing LT Browser!

Let me tell you something: I'm a LambdaTest customer, and I love what they have done for us, web devs. LambdaTest helped me with Safari issues on one of my project, and I use LT Browser to create accurate, responsive components for my last project (https://www.producthunt.com/post...) Chrome Devtool is cool, but LT Browser lets me create reliable, responsive components by testing them on multiple devices in one click. And it's free ๐Ÿคฏ
Jay Singh
Thanks for your vote of support @florian_argaud and thanks for being the part of the journey ๐Ÿš€
Mudit Singh
@florian_argaud Thanks for the feedback ๐Ÿ™Œ

Great tool -- and love the lambda! Two quick questions: 1. Does the product allow for different browser emulations on the devices? For example, running Safari or Chrome on iPhone? 2. A usual 'pain' is trying to emulate laptop/desktop environments on some weird default dpi that can totally change the layout. Is this option offered? Best of luck with the hunt!
Jay Singh
Hey @george_liapis LTBrowser is more focused on helping you test your site on mobile resolutions, and therefore may not help you in browser testing. However that does not mean that it's not possible ๐Ÿ˜ You can checkout our main platform LambdaTest.com. That's a dedicated cross browser testing platform where you can test your webapps on real Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc. Do check it out and let me know if it helps ๐Ÿ˜Š p.s. you will also find mobile environments there !!
Mudit Singh
@george_liapis Do let us know if you wish for a one to one demo of LambdaTest platform as well. I would be happy to showcase how you can do browser testing with our real time testing features. Also Thanks for the feedback ๐Ÿ™Œ
Devender Sharma
We in Elsevier have found LT browser utility very useful and amazing. It has been of great help to our front end team!
Jay Singh
Really great to hear that @devender_sharma2. Glad to see that you and the Elsevier team liked the platform :) It's because of feedback from product ambassadors like you that we have been able to bring in new cool features and make the platform more useful for everyone !!
Mudit Singh
@devender_sharma2 Thanks for the feedback ๐Ÿ™Œ

Congrats for this! I would love to know about the inspiration behind building this product, it seems like a one-stop solution for all dev needs!
Jay Singh
@anchalsharmaa thats a good question and yes there is a story behind this !! Because of Covid-19, as teams across the world kickstarted the WFH culture, they realized that the โ€œin-houseโ€ device labs were not that โ€œin-houseโ€ anymore. As these testing teams no longer had access to office devices to perform testing, they were coming in droves to platforms like LambdaTest to fill in that infrastructure gap. We, here at LambdaTest, realized that we have bigger responsibilities towards these WFH teams. And LT Browser was inspired by this need. We wanted to give developers and testers a way to reduce their dependencies on device labs, and work on their mobile websites in a faster and more confident manner. We talked with a lot of developers testers and web owners who are working from home, analyzing their pain points and fine tuning LT Browsers features to help them in their release cycles. This effort is still going on; we are still adding more conversations, still adding more features and are still polishing the platform. So feel free to let us know what will make this tool more useful for your teams ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ
Anchal Sharma
Awesome! Thanks @jay_0687 The browser has turned out to be quite a useful tool! Would be good to see if you could simulate different browsers (Chrome, Safari, Mozilla ). That way it would be useful to see how mobile websites behave not only on different resolutions but on different browsers as well.
Jay Singh
That's a great observation and input @anchalsharmaa. ๐Ÿ˜‡ For that very purpose we've LambdaTest in place. Using LambdaTest, you can render your website on 2000+ different browsers for both mobile and desktop operating systems. You can think of LT Browser as an add-on product for LambdaTest users to help them ease their responsive testing and development experience.
Anchal Sharma
@jay_0687 Thanks for the explanation, I didn't get a chance to explore LambdaTest let me check it out.
Jay Singh
More than happy to help @anchalsharmaa. Do give it a spin and let us know in case you have any questions, suggestions or feedback. You could also reach out to our 24/7 chat support. ๐Ÿ˜Š

99minds is a Gift Card provider to eCommerce Merchant and used LT browser to test our Gift Card widget on our Customer's Ecommerce Store on multiple mobile devices and browsers. The best part is you can test the responsiveness of the page and compare the output on devices side-by-side. Made our life so easy!
Jay Singh
@pravinkamble3 Glad that it can help you ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š Right now 67% of all eCommerce sales worldwide come from mobile and if store owners are not making their sites mobile first, then they would be missing out on revenue !!! This is also one of the main reason why LT Browser is especially useful for E-commerce stores. Hope you and your clients are able to make the most out of this tools. We would be bringing more features in this soon that will make your life even easier, so stay tuned ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Mudit Singh
@pravinkamble3 thanks for your vote of confidence and for the feedback ๐Ÿ™Œ
Kfir Berger
The LT browser looks great! great UI and a lot of devices! And we really love to work with you Lambda! All features that we asked, we got :)
Jay Singh
Thanks for the feedback @kfirber Really awesome to see we can be of help and live upto your expectations !!! It would not have been possible without feedbacks from product ambassadors like you ๐Ÿ˜Š
Mudit Singh
@kfirber Thanks for the feedback ๐Ÿ™Œ The LambdaTest team also really like working with you and all your feedbacks have helped us polish the product better โ˜บ๏ธ
Slava Kalevich
As a CTO can definitely say, that this will be great tool for frontend team! Nice work!
Jay Singh
We created this tool with the aim of making the life of frontend teams easier and really hope that we succeed in this endeavor ๐Ÿ˜Š !! Thanks for the motivation @eagleglance
Slava Kalevich
@jay_0687 did you use Chromium engine?
Mudit Singh
@eagleglance we are using ElectronJS as a base for this application. And since ElectronJS itself uses Chromium engine, so yep this app has a Chromium rendering engine chugging in the background !!!
Suresh Chowdhary
LT Browser looks to be an amazing product. But I have some out of the box resolution requirement. Does LT Browser support non-popular resolutions?
Jay Singh
@sureshchowdhary Yes, you can. LT browser has an option to add Custom Device resolutions in it. So in case, if the default mobile, tablet or desktop resolutions doesn't meet your testing requirements, you can always add more devices to the browser based over the user agent. Do try it and let me know how it goes. ๐Ÿ˜Š
Suresh Chowdhary
@sureshchowdhary @jay_0687 great to hear that. But how can I add custom device? Can you help me understand?
Jay Singh
@sureshchowdhary You can find that option by clicking over the big + icon and heading to a tab for custom devices. All you need is to fill the fields there and you would be good to go. :) FYI - You could also find these steps in the support documentation that is present over the help button inside the LT browser.
Suresh Chowdhary
@jay_0687 Oh great! Will check it out. So basically we are developing an e commerce platform. So as an important feature of it, we want to test it from different countries. Is that possible in LT Browser?
Jay Singh
We're working to bring geolocation testing in our upcoming sprints @sureshchowdhary. Meanwhile, you can leverage geolocation testing over LambdaTest. ๐Ÿ˜Š
Anna Vemter
It's great for developers and designers ๐Ÿ˜Ž We can now check the responsiveness of our web apps on two devices without switching and moving back and forth between them - it will save us time and effort.
Jay Singh
Thanks @annavemter for the feedback. Glad you liked LTBrowser and that it helps save testing time!!! Your positive feedback is motivation enough to keep working on the platform :)
Mudit Singh
@annavemter Thanks for the feedback ๐Ÿ™Œ
Anna Jensen
What if the device I want to test on is not there?
Jay Singh
Don't worry @annajensen4 , we have you covered. In LT Browser there is a feature that will allow you to set a custom device size as well. If the resolution you want is not there, just click on add Custom Device button and you can add in your choice of resolution.
Mudit Singh
@annajensen4 Do let us know if a one to one walk through of the platform will help. We would be happy to connect on a call and showcase how you can test your niche devices as well as highlight other features of LambdaTest platform like real time testing, automation, and screenshot testing.
Daryll Wong
Wow this is the swiss-army knife for UI testing! Particularly, a great range of devices and the ability to test realistically (not just a simulator for screen sizes only), and being able to take screenshots and comment directly on them for any bugs or what not. Great stuff! Will be looking out for potential future use.
Jay Singh
Hey @daryllman Thanks for the feedback and hope that the platform would be of great use to you and your team :) If you wish I would also be happy to give you a one-to-one walkthrough of the platform to highlight it's major use-cases and how it can help you in your development process. Feel free to reachout over our in-app chat support to connect!! ๐Ÿ˜Š
Mudit Singh
@daryllman Thanks for the feedback ๐Ÿ™Œ
Pooja Pareek
I have been using LT Browser for quite some time now. And I must say it is a delightful experience so far. The feature which I found most useful is that it lets me test the responsiveness of my local web pages by just typing the localhost address, and I don't need any extension.
Jay Singh
@poojapareek5 Thanks for your compliment! :)
Mudit Singh
@poojapareek5 Glad you liked it !!!
Chanda Rana
I love that you have made it so easy to check website performance within the app. This is better than running a lighthouse report from developer tools in Chrome!
Jay Singh
Hey @chandarana Glad you liked the feature ๐Ÿ˜Š We as well thought that Lighthouse was a very under-rated tool. It's also little complicated to take Lighthouse reports from developer console. Therefore we created this single click feature as one of the most important feature of the tool. It makes life so much easier !!!
deepti khurana
So a tool that will help me check my websiteโ€™s response on mobile? Thatโ€™s what I have been talking about with my team (well, anyone who would listen). I am going to have to say โ€˜in your faceโ€™ when I share this with them.
Jay Singh
Hey @deeptikhurana1 LTBrowser will certainly help you in your mobile testing no doubt. Do checkout the performance reports as well, if mobile is an overlooked area in your development cycle, then I am sure these mobile performance reports will certainly help in opening some eyes๐Ÿคฃ. It happened with us certainly ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿคฃ
Mudit Singh
@deeptikhurana1 ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ We have a share feature in our performance reports. You can use it to share performance issues with you teams. Hope it will help in improving mobile experience
