File Ark — Archive files to cloud storage, save space on your computer

👋 Hi Product Hunt, I had created my first web project ShareFiles about 7 months ago to help share files for free with just a link. As of now, over 300 GB worth of files/folders have been uploaded and downloaded by users. While related to the idea of file storage, I made my new app, File Ark to cater to a different need. With File Ark, the goal is that users can just as easily archive files/folders from their computer to cloud storage and save space on their computer. You can start it using it now for free with 1 GB of storage capacity. Unlike ShareFiles, where the files were only stored for up to 24 hours and were intended for sharing, File Ark is meant to be your own personal and private storage that will last the lifetime of your account. Also, File Ark is a desktop app to make working with files and folders easier. I currently have builds for Mac and Windows. I tried file ark and it is amazing, with the simple UI its much smoother than dropbox or google drive.
