Learn the vocabulary you actually use daily.
1. Install the extension
2. Set the language you want to learn
3. Set how many words or sentences to translate
4. The extension will do the translation as you browse
5. Optional: skip certain domains
đ Hey everyone,
I got the original idea for the extension when trying use tools like Duolingo. I felt that the vocabulary they (and a lot of others) offer there is too artificial. And I didn't wanna go to a separate app to learn languages.
I first created a basic version of a similar extension around 7 years ago as part of another startup I co-founded. For a variety of reasons, I decided to shut it down last year. This year I wanted to redo it properly since I started learning Javascript a year ago. So, this is the second coming. đş
Functionality:
âď¸ Choose from 100+ languages
âď¸ Choose whether to translate words or sentences
âď¸ Choose the translation percentage
âď¸ Hover the translation to see the original text
âď¸ Add domains to the translation ignore list
âď¸ Spread out translations across the page or concentrate on top
âď¸ Avoid translating links
âď¸ Automatically avoid translating code blocks
I hope the translation limits for the free and paid versions are enough for trying it out and using it daily.
I've got loads of feature ideas in the list already but would love to hear your feedback first, guys. đ Hope you'll enjoy it!
This is a really cool concept! Just sneaks words in there every now and then, which is great practice. I'm definitely going to try this out. Which languages do you support?
@britt_joiner thank you :) It uses Google Translate API, so, all the (100+) languages available in Google Translate are available in the extension as well.
