Been using Listnr to convert articles to audio files so I can listen while I'm commuting, doing my morning stretches, or just want to listen to an article instead of reading it!
Now that it's available as a Chrome extension, it makes converting text to speech EVEN EASIER!
Oh yes, I forgot to mention that the voices are AMAZING. And that's not just English voices, but also other languages such as Chinese, Korean, etc. Absolutely mindblowing.
The best part of it all is Listnr makes it a BREEZE to create a podcast if you already have the script and text ready. It's not a full-fletched podcast production solution yet, but the team is working hard to make it a reality.
Congrats @ananay_batra on the launch and development so far!
The solid tools are judged based on certain factors
their usability
willingness to upscale based on user demands
solid founders backing the tools
Listnr has it all
give it a try
I got listnrr as a test to see how it can help me and I was blown away by the features that it offers. Some of the use cases that I have since implemented are
1. Creating and embedding an audio option for blog posts.
2. Creating voice overs for videos from a written scripts
3. Podcasts, well haven’t explored this to the max but the software is rugged and handles it well.
The best part is the credit rollover so I need not worry about the unused credit going waste. It gets rolled out to the next cycle and I potentially can create a longer audio the next time around.
Anan Batra is also super responsive and has been releasing updates at the speed of space. The tool now has a companion chrome plugin and you suddenly have more flexibility.
The roadmap looks solid on this tool, the voices are more natural than any other on the market.
So I am super happy with the tool and the developer and I believe it is one of the solid tools that I have purchased in the recent past. Thought of sharing it here so as to help others with some ways how you can use it on your workflow.
Have a blessed day and all the best for the launch Anan.
What if you could have the stuff you want to read, read to you?!
With podcasts and audio content allowing for a simple way to consume content and learning while doing other things (driving, exercising, or just doing mind-numbing mundane work), audio has become the new playground of content providers.
A pity, then, that so much of it is pretty asinine (thus the reason for me still having most of the news providers open on my phone, 24/7).
This is where @ananay_batra1 and @matthiasinchina have come to the rescue with Listnr. Bonus: it even helps you start a podcast of the content you WANT without having to do the voice-overs yourself (no more phlegmy throats!). Oh, and there's a Chrome extension too, in case you want to listen to something NOW.
Some of the voices are great, some less so, but @ananay_batra1 and his team have consistently been adding, and improving, the product. And as a team, they are pretty awesome too!
Enjoy it, everyone.
From converting text to speech, embedding audio into blog posts, and podcasting, I waited for this kind of product for a long time. The interface is very easy to use, and new voices are added frequently.
I have tried other text-to-speech platforms ltd as well, but their audio quality is poor. Moreover, we can get rollover credits of up to 1 million words.
Thank you, Anan Batra, for the product and your support. We look forward to your continuous improvements with more voices and also Indian language options like Tamil.
Best wishes for your success!
Pretty neat tool @ananay_batra and @matthiasinchina! Here's some improvements I'd make:
- Allow the user to select which voice they want to listen to for each article.
- I got the error, "Sorry, we don't support this type of page yet." If this is the case, you should add a button right there to report what page you're on so that you can make it compatible with your tool.
- Allow the user to listen to the article from the chrome extension, rather than having to go to the listnr site to then listen to it.
Overall great work. Hopefully the feedback is helpful too!
@matthiasinchina@kylekrzeski Thats great advice Kyle, all valid points! We were planning to add the page report thing that you mentioned, anyways, appreciate you trying out the extension :D
