Hello hunters 👋 I'm Yaniv, co-founder and CEO here at Listory, writing to you from NYC. Listory is the world's first content refinery. It empowers human-curation and technology to extract the most relevant, interesting and credible stories for you. In Listory, great stories are the goal, the rest are means to enjoy them. Listory was built to delight you with every story. To ensure that, we also announce the #ListoryChallenge - a daily “bet” we invite you to take. Here’s how it works: We bet the first story on Listory is going to be the best you’ll find during that day. If we win - you’ll commit (mentally) to retake the challenge the next day. If we lose, you can submit a better story for a $0.10 credit towards a newspaper or newsletter subscription It is the product of our passion for content and discovery, and we hope you’ll love it as we do. We'll be hanging around for any feedback/questions/ideas.🙏 😊

@prodissues This is unbelievable! I was about to launch a similar idea and it has exactly the same set of features that is really important. I am truly amazed at this point, also i can contribute to provide add on features that could benefit the users for better curation. Let me know if you like to discuss further. I have few ideas mapped down a few months back.
Raquel Winiarsky
@prodissues @iamvarunnair thanks for the support! I've sent over my email to connect :)
Yaniv Gilad
@iamvarunnair sure thing, let's connect.
Kanan Tandi
@prodissues Amazing idea! Going to give it a try for sure. Taking the bet! Here's the thing, If you win (the first story on Listory is going to be the best you’ll find during that day), I am going to share my peers about this awesome app. All the best for the journey! Will come back in a week to share my feedback.
Yaniv Gilad
@prodissues @kanan_tandi Thanks a lot Kanan!
Sarah Evans
Really excited for the Listory launch. I'm already using to curate digital PR and social media stories that I'm repurposing in my weekly newsletter. LOVE THIS!
Gail Gardner
@prsarahevans Thanks for telling me about Listory, Sarah. The first thing I did was follow you. The second was to follow ProductHunt.
Raquel Winiarsky
@prsarahevans Thanks Sarah!!!
Yaniv Gilad
@prsarahevans I'm so happy to hear that! Everyone can become a curator with Listory and share insightful lists of content. Thanks for your support.
Yaniv Gilad
@prsarahevans @growmap Thanks Gail! We're glad to have you on board. Keep enjoying and creating great content.
Dave Poly
Hey @prodissues - Looks awesome. Checking it out tonight. Question - What's the main differences between this and Refind ?
Yaniv Gilad
@davepoly thanks for the support and I hope you'll enjoy the app! Thanks also for bringing up @refindcom, I didn't know about them, but am excited there's another teams with similar mission. I'll need to play with it a bit more, but on the face of it it seems we refine content differently. But again, the more products that focus on you learning and getting smarter, the better!
Dave Poly
@prodissues Just signed up and playing around with it. Great UI/UX. I'd like to use the Read Later feature but I don't want to give access to my Calendar (I get why you'd need it but just something to think about). Who'd you guys use to create your marketing video btw? Really sleek.
Yaniv Gilad
@davepoly Yup, understand why you don't want to connect your calendar. You can always create a "Read Later" list and save stories to it. We made the decision to use the calendar because we know that when we save a good story for later we rarely go back to it... As for the video - our amazing designer @savitha_pal and Nadav Arbel from - www.tmc-animation.com
Dave Poly
@prodissues "we know that when we save a good story for later we rarely go back to it..." Ugh, tell me about it! I've been trying to solve this problem with hacks for years. Will see what Listory can do :)
Yaniv Gilad
@prodissues @davepoly great - we hope we solved it. Give it a try.
Nadav Dakner
Congratz on the launch guys! I'll participate in the challenge and let you know how it goes :)
Yaniv Gilad
@nadavdakner Thanks Nadav! we appreciate the support.
Philipp Meder
Wow! After so many years, this might finally be something as good as Zite. I'm so excited! Only been using it for a couple of swipes and already loving it!
Yaniv Gilad
OMG @phimema, I cried when they sold and closed Zite. It was definitely an inspiration for us when we started @listoryapp. Thanks for your support!
Philipp Meder
@phimema @listoryapp @prodissues yes, it took a long time for me to get over it when I found out Zite was going to close! I wish you all the best with Listory!
Liraz Postan
Loving it! Upvoted!
Yaniv Gilad
@liraz_rahmin_postan Thanks so much Liraz.
Agata Krzysztofik
This looks really promising. I especially like the option of setting up daily reading goals. I think that by adding such gamification features, as well as creating challenges, you will be able to easily drive engagement and hook people into daily use. I was trying to choose more than one content category to see a mix of lifestyle and business, but it wasn't possible. I actually like in Google search app that they mix the news stories based on a mix of my past searches/interests.
Raquel Winiarsky
@agatakristo Our goal is to first, make content as accessible as possible and two, create an environment that allows readers to stay focus, gain as much as they possibly can, and help form smarter habits. "It’s your delight, not how much time you spend in the app, which we are obsessed with. We rely on human expertise to refine and mine the signal from the noise, all to achieve our goal of WOW’ing you with every story." - That's from our manifesto and we stand by it :) Have fun and as always, if you have any questions at all, feel free to message us :)
Yaniv Gilad
@agatakristo Thank you for the feedback Agata. We will make that possible soon I believe. Appreciate your support and glad you like it.
Nicolas Nemni
Hi there, how can I change my username?
Raquel Winiarsky
@nicolasegosum Hey! You actually don't have the ability to change your username right now but I'm more than happy to do it for you. Whenever you have a chance, feel free to message us with your email, your current username, and the username you desire. We'll keep you updated on the change :)
Raquel Winiarsky
@nicolasegosum It's been changed :)
Minjie Shi
The app looks quite clean and easier for people to focus. The limit of 20 stories is a nice touch in my opinion, no more endless scrolling.
Yaniv Gilad
Thanks @minjie_shi! the limited number of stories is one of the key decisions we make and is part of our manifesto (https://www.listory.com/en/our-m...). Early people were surprised that we're ditching the infinite feed, since it is the main thing other apps use to keep users in their app. We, on the other hand, are betting on content quality. We think that if we delight users with great stories they will come back for more.
Minjie Shi
@minjie_shi @prodissues I love that you guys are making the bold bet with ditching the infinite feed. Personally I am a huge fan of limited content, so that I am not anxious about what I am missing. Keep up with the great work!
Yaniv Gilad
Ankit Chhabra
I have been a great fan of this concept and with the ever growing awareness in this space with refind.com & mix.com, listory presents this with really nice perspective. I really like goal, schedule feature. And the way you showed the curators under each story, it just gives more credibility to that story and makes even more persuasive for the user to save/read or add it to their goal. Awesome 👏🏽👏🏽
Yaniv Gilad
@shrutika22lodhi This is so awesome to hear! yes, this is exactly how we're thinking about things - showing you why a story is worth your time, and helping you develop "healthier" habits to enjoy content. We would love to hear from you more after you're using Listory. Thanks!
Ankit Chhabra
@prodissues Are you guys planning to roll out the feature where user could add his own article to the list instead of saving it from the curated article? I believe this is a good use case.
Yaniv Gilad
@shrutika22lodhi Yes! very soon (i.e. a few days)
Mark Cohen
Love the concept, hate the noise. You should chat with the guys at @inklnews and see if there's potential synergy.
Yaniv Gilad
Thanks @markc1! (just to make sure - when you say that you "hate the noise", you mean that outside of Listory, not that the Listory experience is noise, right?)
Yaniv Gilad
@markc1 👍
John Rampton
I've tried out a bunch of apps like this. What makes yours different? If your app can filter out the noise and deliver targeted recommendations, I'm gonna be a loyal user!
Yaniv Gilad
Thanks for the support, @johnrampton! Yeah, we tried LOTS of content apps as well, and we think we're different. Other apps care more about your attention than your delight. They use content as a means to get you to click, like or keep scrolling through the infinite feed. In Listory, great stories are the goal, the rest are means to enjoy them. So for example, Listory has a different take on "Save for later". We think that the best stories are rarely read, because people save them for later, but never actually go back to read them. In Listory, when you save for later, we integrate with your calendar and let you find a better time to consume it. We share our beliefs and principles behind Listory in our manifesto, which is public, here - www.listory.com/en/our-manifesto

Hi Yaniv, 👋 @prodissues Looks like an amazing product, Listory, the world's first content refinery! I am sure we can save a lot of time to find the things soon. Great idea! Would like to join the challenge. Thanks for sharing. All the best. Philip Ariel
Yaniv Gilad
Thanks @pvariel! curious to know who won when you're taking the challenge 😀
Gabe O'Leary
I've enjoyed using the product so far, but I have a question for y'all. I've had the same stories in my "For You" tab for the past 3 days...is that expected? I figured they would change every day. Also I'd love to be able to ask this question/give feedback in the product, but I couldn't figure out how to so here I am. :)
Yaniv Gilad
Hey @golear, thanks for the feedback, and for being determined to give it 😀! 1. By default, you'll see the top stories in the For You, and those might stay there for awhile. 2. You can control the timeliness of stories by playing with the freshness filter (to get to this filter tap the triangle at the top-right of the For You screen.) That being said, we're going to push a fix to an issue that caused stories to linger and not be refreshed. That might address your feedback. Again, thanks for the feedback. Yaniv PS. You can also reach us at support@listory.com and @listoryapp on twitter.
Gabe O'Leary
@golear @listory @listoryapp @prodissues Sure thing, and good to know. Part of my confusion has stemmed from the fact that stories that I "mark as read" continue showing up in my for you page.
Hila Shitrit Nissim
Congrats on the launch! Love the app and the way it helps me start my day with the best stories I can't miss.
Raquel Winiarsky
@hila_shitrit Thank you!
Yaniv Gilad
@hila_shitrit Thanks Hila! We aim to bring a better start, with content that matters.
Merav Meluban
Congrats looks awsome
Yaniv Gilad
@merav_meluban Thanks Merav. Appreciate all your help and support.
Erik Emanuelli
Just downloaded Listory and did the challenge. I'm playing with the app: design looks clean and it loads super fast. I'm refining my content right now.
Raquel Winiarsky
@erikemanuelli Awesome stuff! So happy you're enjoying :)
