OK, I just discovered Lookback and it sounds pretty awesome. I still like Screenflow because it allows me to do a bit of editing (highlight some part of the video for instance), but that's a neat collaboration tool. As for Lookback USB, I prefer buying Reflector: I stream the content of the Android/iOS Device, then record my mac.
@lucascerdan Hey, Screenflow is amazing, and it's a fantastic tool for content creation; agreed on that part. Lookback is more focused on user research and finding out more about how people use your software. Like Screenflow, we record peoples' screens and faces, but in addition, we also automatically upload these recordings to a shared dashboard where your team can collaborate on these recordings to make your product better :)
@ourielohayon Hi Oureil, one of the Lookback founders, Nevyn, wrote about the differences between Lookback USB and QuickTime in this blog post if you are interested: https://lookback.io/blog/app-pre...
Hey all! Thanks for the votes! We created this as an addition to our user research platform - creating another easy way to share iOS and Apple TV recordings. We capture the user's face and mic via the Mac to give a clearer insight into their understanding of the app they are testing. Hope this helps!
Looks nice. Lookback has made steady improvements over the past year. One drawback of this (and the QuickTime method) is no indicator of screen taps. Only way I've found to do that on iOS is to jailbreak.
@chrishannah On top what QuickTimes does, Lookback USB captures video from the Mac's FaceTime camera, rotates the screen if the device was rotated, supports unplugging and replugging the device mid-recording, and automatically uploads to the Lookback platform, for easy cloud sharing and team collaboration.
@chrishannah yes. All you do is plug in your iPhone / ipad, open Quicktime and go to FILE > NEW MOVIE RECORDING then click the little drop down and select your iDevice from the list as the source. BOOM. Now you can record. I use it all the time.
Nice! I have been using QuickTime Player to record the animations for my blog http://app-ealing.com/. But I will definitely be giving this a go now. Is there a way to record the screen without any sound? I am currently having to open each video in Adobe Media Encoder to remove the sound and would love to find a quicker work flow.
