Super excited about this, especially the "similar" and "bargin" layout! Random question but do you guys have any plans to expand to more asian (ie. Kpop) influencers? Like: https://www.pinterest.com/search...
Mike Coutermarsh
I just spent WAY MORE TIME looking through your site than I expected. really awesome / great execution.

Congrats on launch! Love this idea. I've been in many instances where I've thought to myself while scrolling through Instagram: "Damn, where'd he get that hoodie." Well, no more... Great work folks. G'luck!
Scooter Taylor
@thecoolestcool yes, no longer in the dark about that. Who are some people whose style do you come across on IG that you like?
Cedric J. Rogers
@tomseverini Thanks for feedback! On our website you can search for a person or show. If they aren't already being covered you can vote for them. We use this system to help decided who we should be covering next.
Tom Severini
Thanks @cedricjrogers great solution and definitely how I would expect it to work. It seems that who I was searching for wasn't in your database so I received a zero results page with no option to vote. Just tried it again with a different celebrity and got the vote page.
Cedric J. Rogers
@tomseverini Who in particular were you looking for? We would like to consider them to add to the database.

@scootertaylor @selkoe Also even if you aren't focusing on women knowing statistically women make or influence 85% of all purchasing decisions is something that without question is going to have an effect on your product...how do you envision this helping you socially with your product? Studies have shown that the differences between men and women's purchasing decisions couldn't be more diffrent, given men are really looking to get the experience over with, and women want to go deeper. With men being more utilitarian, whereas women’s shopping motives tend to be hedonic. Meaning men want to shop to complete the task. Women are doing it because they love it and and want to be empowered with an experience that helps with their purchasing decisions along the funnel. Male shoppers statistically have a very direct funnel with key motivations tied to a distinct mission. Which is why I think this is interesting in regards to these style guides and instant gratification experience you have. My questions is what age demographic are you going for really when it comes to men fashion with 2.0 has that changed from the initial release of this?
Scooter Taylor
@nicholassheriff Hey Nicholas! We really took a good look at the way men shop and as you said realized a direct funnel is a major key. Clicking the red icon, and being able to purchase right within the app is something many of our users tell us they love. Men seem to like owning new clothes, just not taking the time to shop for them. Our hope is that the young adult out of college, or even the married man enjoys clicking those red icons.

@scootertaylor You guys are on it, this is exactly the response I was hoping to hear YES!!! Really psyched if you guys are ever in the bay I'd love to grab coffee and chat more. Excited ( huge shopper myself for mens fashion / being I'm from NY originally but now live in San Francisco ) can see myself using this often.
Scooter Taylor

Solid. You took the guesswork out of trying to find really great pieces.
Cedric J. Rogers
@will_lucas We wanted to make it easy for men to fashionable!
Jonathan (Yoni) Ofir
Looks very good! Love it.

I heard about this on @jason's @launchticker - another fantastic example of the kind of invitational, user-driven advertising I've been looking for for over a decade. Nice work, team @looklive
Ben Tossell
No way.... @selkoe (ex-founder of Karmaloop) I didn't know Looklive was the next venture for you. Funny story... about 6/7 years ago I interviewed you over skype or email (can't remember) because I was setting up an Independent UK Streetwear website aimed at the Chinese market. Now, I work here :) and you are onto your next adventure - Always enjoyed your story about starting Karmaloop at home. What lessons from Karmaloop are you going to replicate at Looklive and what are you going to do differently? @ScooterTaylor Tell us the story here from the last year at Looklive
Greg
@bentossell hey man how are you!!! Love to catch up
Scooter Taylor
@bentossell It's been an absolute blast. We've been a part of Y combinator for the last three months, and that has helped come even closer as a team and really focus on creating a new shopping experience for men which I'm excited to hear feedback on today.
Tom Severini
@selkoe @scootertaylor amazing site and app! Nicely done.👍🏻What a great tool to assist men in being more fashionable. How do you choose what celebrities and shows you include? Would love to see the ability to suggest or upvote? Keep up the great work.
Dayo Esho
this is really cool. love it
Cedric J. Rogers
Thanks @dayo! Great compliment...we love Shelf too!
Yaw Owusu-Barimah
Congrats @selkoe
Craig Henry
This is a home run guys. No bullshit! I really am excited to shop on here now. Categorizing it by show (Scandal, Ballers, etc) allows me to find the things they were wearing and buy them. This is awesome.
Cedric J. Rogers
Thanks @cgnry! We appreciate the feedback.
Leandrew Robinson
Shopping looklive is like a fun game. Proud of you @selkoe
Scooter Taylor
@leandrew @selkoe Thanks for the feedback Leandrew! "Shop 'til you drop" as the young kids are saying nowadays lol
Lane Petrauskas
This is awesome! Perhaps you could even let users submit photos of outfits for Looklive to identify. Great work, guys.
Scooter Taylor
Thanks @lanepetrauskas! User generated content is definitely something we're exploring.
Jay Davis
Tried to get a text to download the app and even after putting in correct number with country code it's not working. Just a heads up.
Cedric J. Rogers
@jayndavis Thanks for the heads up we will check it now.
Shiva Singh Sangwan
Really cool Idea. Looking forward to see the development :)
Scooter Taylor
Thanks @shivagg!
Michal Subel
Not sure if you will be willing to share this, but are you finding similar/alternative products by using image recognition or in some other way?
Scooter Taylor
@michal_subel There's a mix of image recognition and crowdsourcing from our community to get that done!
Michal Subel
The idea looks very interesting and I am really curious to see how it develops. But, I cannot believe you have used both: a footer and continuous/infinite scroll pattern on the same page. The only way to actually click on the links in the footer is to disconnect from the internet otherwise the footer keeps getting away as more items are appended to the bottom of the grid.
Scooter Taylor
@michal_subel mmmm thanks for point that out Michal!
Leandra
This is amazing! Really beautiful and intuitive design, great job guys.
