Loom has made it super duper easy to watch their quick videos while using your favorite productivity tools. I love it when a freemium product gets easier to use!
@joethomas_x@hnshah Hey. <3 Loom -- but wondering: Is there much of a difference here from copying and pasting the URL in? I tested in Asana. Clicking the "Record Video" button just directs you to the normal Loom /Chrome workflow. Not much "there" there? IDK.. and then hitting tiny dots menu opens "Last Recording" -- but I could easily copy/paste that if I just did a recording - and then "My Videos" could be a cool feature but at least in Asana the message box is so tiny that it's hard to tell which video you are choosing... right? Maybe better UX with other integrations? Of course I used a quick Loom to show my UX :) https://www.useloom.com/share/54... --- Loom is super cool. I'm spreading the word... just not sure yet what the "aha" moment is of this new Workflows integration... Would love someone to share their "aha" that goes beyond saving a couple secs to copy/paste a link. Thx guys
@loganhale a usable UX would go a long to communicating the value of the Loom Hint for quick access to your videos. In places like GitHub and Trello where the experience is smoother the value is there.
We're of the opinion that shaving off seconds, which is only the time frame if you keep your Loom My Videos page open at all time for quick reference, that the Hint shaves over more like 30-60 seconds. Admittedly, this is not "aha" moment inspiring right off the bat, but if taken in aggregate for our power users recording and sharing 10 videos a day, those savings will creep up on you.
As for the Record Video flow, it's just a simple reminder that quick videos are available to you. Takes some people a bit to get to the tipping point of understanding how to integrate into their communication flow and the Loom Hint is there to be a gentle reminder 😉 we're working right now to fix that flow on Asana. Give us a few days to get that out to you!
This looks great. Do you have plans to run this as a standalone product without the need of Chrome similar to QuickCast? Thank you and have an amazing day?
@deysonortiz hey there Deyson! Yes we do eventually have plans to make this standalone outside of Chrome. We're not sure on a timeline as of yet, but keep tuned!

Let us know if you have any questions!
@_shahedk looking great, excited to give this a try (again) with the new features. Are the integrations live yet? When I look in my account / integrations I see them all listed and in the "on" state, but don't see anyway to configure them.
For example, I assume(?) the dropbox integration lets me save videos there? ( "Reinventing teamwork just got a little easier with quick videos" is the only description I see for Dropbox integration, so I'm just guessing here). Where do I go to config Loom to use my Dropbox account?
UPDATE: Based on videos I found for some of the other integrations, it looks like my assumption on what the DropBox integration did was probably wrong. Looks like it is probably an inline embed button, not the ability to store videos in DB?
@_shahedk@edholloway It would be great to get clarity on this. Loom looks great and I'm looking for a video recording tool that *doesn't* auto-upload videos to their own cloud ( at least for some ), but let's us save them automatically to a local folder ( or cloud folder of our choosing - e.g. Dropbox )
For NDA reasons and whatnot
Looks like a great tool, nice work @_shahedk! How does the Intercom integration work and what type of use cases there do you envision? Inline videos for the FAQs in their new Educate product?
@jhubball@_shahedk hey there Josh! Not Shahed, but the Intercom integration currently allows you to view videos inline across chat and the internal support center. We did a little bit of work to get it to work in Intercom Educate for our own support center and will be porting our articles over to including Loom video links everywhere, but that integration isn't quite ready across all support fronts yet.
The use cases for integrating with Intercom is tied to what you personally use Intercom for. It's a bit more straightforward for Educate (videos showcasing how to do certain things). We have a bunch of inbound customer support, so our ability to quickly send videos explaining how to complete certain tasks has literally saved us hours of work - especially since we move so quickly and our product is always evolving. We also frequently send personal camera-only recordings when we goof up on something and want to apologize/make something right by the user.
Great! Any plans for HD video quality and an API for app vendors to capture user feedback in one click? Key is to allow the resulting video file to be fetched or directly dumped to AWS S3. Streaming webcam capture alone has value. The embedded page parameters could force settings in the plugin regarding a starting URL and capture settings (e.g. force screen + webcam). White labeling or co-branding the extension could be part of a top service tier too.
@pdame We certainly do have plans for HD video quality in the near future. Building an API out for vendors is not in our roadmap. We are currently cranking away on making team communication as smooth as possible.
I do like the idea though, and could see how our video streaming technology could make it happen.
@paulius_dragunas thx. Every online service needs better bug reports if nothing else, but show-&-tell feedback has much more value than that. What I'm envisioning is not a complex integration:Just support a few more parameters on the embedded record button. Allow control of the start URL, record settings, end redirect URL and video storage (S3 copy). Done! I'd argue there are many team comm tools already like Slack/Screenhero, CloudApp, and all future WebRTC enabled apps that are now easier to build.
Loom is amazing - use it daily to share ideas, feedback, how-tos with clients, team members... and even family for tech support! 😉
Great choice of integrations to kick off with - just made Loom even more essential!
Great work guys - the pace of development is awesome.
LOVE this product! Game changing for remote team communication. Integration are SOOOO good, fav so far is Trello and Google docs. Integration dream list: Would love my support team to use loom via Drift.com
Why no sign up or pricing link on the landing page? I had to guess that I needed to login to sign up. Then on the next page there's talk about referrals and $15 off, but no other pricing info anywhere that I could see. I immediately closed my account, which thank god was easy to do.
@carolemagouirk sorry for the confusion! We're actually a completely free tool and Loom will always be free for individuals. We ask you to refer Loom to friends so that we can continue to grow stay free 😀
You can check out what kind of stuff we're working on here: https://trello.com/b/hQEJSVSQ/lo...
If you'd like to re-open your account, give me a shout through the chat. Would love to unlock the Power Features for you upfront, so you can enjoy Loom fully!
Yes! The greatest product of 2016-2017 is only getting better! Thanks for building these integrations. We <3 Loom at HubSpot. p.s. where is our HubSpot integration? ;)
@sjtousley mind shooting me a message with where you'd see the links expand within your CRM? That gives me some direction. No promises on timeline, but that makes it easier for us to hit the ground running on it as quickly as possible when we find the cycles to! :-)
I think you already have my email, but here it is for posterity:
