Thanks for hunting us @chrismessina!
The story behind gptengineer.app is that we noticed that AI devtools miss the "super fast feedback" that you get when you ask for high level changes in plain english, see the full result instantly (not see the code), then correct the AI if it misunderstood anything.
This is what lead us to build gptengineer.app.
Even as a developer, the flow of gptengineer.app is much faster in the initial prototyping stages. After prototyping is done and it's deployed, it's all backed by git. This means that human developers can also jump in, and push back to git to deploy their changes – while non-technical people keep doing changes with plain English.
Looking forward to get feedback and input from the entire Product Hunt community!

@antonosika, Kudos on launching gptengineer.app! 🌟 You've bridged a crucial gap in AI development tools, introducing instant, plain-English feedback and seamless transition from AI prototyping to human-led development. A true milestone for both tech and non-tech innovators alike
@chrismessina Hey Chris--This is actually something Cheat Layer supported 4 months ago, with instant publishing to github and Vercel https://youtu.be/ZsopVcNa68M
The latest version now has many more features that gptengineer.app like adding dalle3 images, stable diffusion videos, and selecting specific elements to edit them live: https://youtu.be/ujghCjfkY48
So excited to see this out in the world. The open source version of GPT Engineer is amazing and has already helped level up the no-code experience for myself and my team.
