@gilly Hi Gil! We aren't another link aggregator.
- We have a full CRM on the backend to let you manage your fanbase and host events
- We allow you to super easily showcase and organize your work (e.g. YouTube videos) on the page
- We allow you to take donations and sell things on the page directly
But perhaps more importantly, Luma is known for the buttery smooth experience. Why it matters - you feel joyful when using it, and you see better results (higher conversion, more sales, more sign ups, etc).
When I was in middle school, my mom decided to upgrade from dialup. I hovered over the pimply Internet technician as he hooked up our computer.
After setting up the broadband, he humored me by giving me a tour of the internet. He showed me how Yahoo worked. And right before leaving, he installed Napster onto our computer.
From that second, I was addicted to the internet. First it was Geocities and forums. Then the social networks came. Myspace first and then Facebook.
In high school, I studiously organized my Facebook account. I made a photo album for each semester of school thinking that I would keep this account the rest of my life.
But slowly, we stopped using Facebook. I started posting to Instagram. I downloaded Snapchat but couldn't get to it. Last year I got addicted to TikTok.
On this internet journey, I've bounced from platform to platform. It's been fun and I've made friends — but it's been hard to share *who* I am online. I spent time building multiple personal websites, but they are very hard to maintain...
So we built Luma to be your homepage online.
You're on a few of different social networks. You host classes, record videos, listen to music. You write blog posts, sell one on one trainings, and send emails.
Luma is not just another link aggregator. It's a place where we hope you can show your best self. A page you can be proud to share with your internet friends. A home, online.
I'm so excited about Luma Profile, which we are building to be the best homepage for anyone who create - instructors, community builders, influencers, youtubers, podcasters, and on and on.
Since starting Luma last year, we've connected millions of people over live events. But that's just one aspect of our online lives. At a time when everyone is on everything, and when we spend the majority of our time online, we hope Luma can be a place you call home.
We hope you'll feel right at home - intuitive, smooth, personal. We hope you'll feel proud sharing it with fans, just like showing friends your home. And just like your home, you own everything and has full visibility - data, analytics, etc.
Welcome home, creators.
This is so impressive and a nice addition to the growing Lu.Ma portfolio. I am glad I got lu.ma/arpit :). I can see it replacing my personal website, too.
Hey @viccypont looks good so far. How is this any different from linktree or something like Carrd? What can you do that I can’t do on these existing platforms?
And btw love your maker attitude!
@viccypont@kensavage Hi Ken! Luma Profile is not another link aggregator. The links section is probably the least important one we have.
- We have a full CRM on the backend to let you manage your fanbase and host events (we've connected over a million people)
- We allow you to super easily showcase your work (e.g. YouTube videos) on the page. You can group them however way you like to best organize your content
- We allow you to take donations and sell things on the page directly too
I tried this product I love the UI. I used it to send invites for a free WeeklyWed gathering I host with my past and present students (I teach professional adults about AV Business). I'd suggest an option for customers to give feedback and get clarification.
1. I have concerns about how my student's emails are stored and how to remove them if they rejected an event. The option to invite past attendees even if they didn't accept is against GDPR compliance. If these are fixed, I see the potential to use this product for the clean events setup, comms and analytics features. Also love the Zoom integration.
2. I'd love to connect Zoom and make events to a series and see analytics over time with the same audience (except ones who opt-out).
2. I got a membership email notification from my profile which leads a 404 which I'd like to share to help the team refine the product. I changed the event URL and wonder if that had anything to do with the 404.
Happy to continue using this product if I can see it test and learn and adapt to my use cases. Thanks!
Edited and adding more -
You show as if this is competing with Patreon and Ad shows Monday.com as comparable product. I see it competing with Hubspot for CRM email automation and Substack for blog based membership and combining it all with a super clean UI.
@sujamthe thanks for sharing this feedback. Can we move to email rather than ProductHunt comments? We can help with a lot of the comments you mentioned.
You can email me at victor@lu.ma :)
Cool product - nice touch on the oauth signup options with twitter, ig, tiktok, and more.
Curious if users can add their own google analytics and FB pixel tracking ids? Seeing Luma's on-page by default.
@aaronoleary thanks Aaaron!
Our first product helped people host + sell tickets to Zoom events. Luma hosts have had over 1M guests register for their events.
So we're really great at everything around events — ticketing, reminders, feedback, attendance, Zoom integration, etc, etc.
But where I think the profile stands out from other link builders is that we aren't just trying to build a page where you can link out to other places. We want to give you a homepage where people can interact with your content, sign up for events, join your membership, and more
@aaronoleary@viccypont Very cool! I guess a lot of people talk about how great it would be as a creator to have one place where people could subscribe/follow all of your stuff. Is that the goal? Would it for example be possible for someone to follow a creator's Twitter + subscribe to their Substack all from their Luma profile?
Victor and Danqing are doing such cool stuff.
I shared this with my sister and had the joy of her coming charging down the stairs beaming about how happy she was, asking me to thank my friend who made this cool product. I did, and I continue to. It just gets better and better.
Luma Profile is easy to use and packed full of features, probably one of the best for creators to link, share and showcase content all from the Bio.
Top product and highly recommended!
