lumio aims to be a 2017-style bookmark that not only lets you save any piece of information, but also makes that information available exactly when and where it is useful for you - e.g. via integrations the first of which is with Slack. Give it a try and let us know if you’ve got comments, questions or ideas. We appreciate all feedback.
lumio’s predecessor, Candy, was listed on PH last September, became a Golden Kitty nominee, and received tons of feedback here. The feedback helped us a lot during the complete re-design and re-branding of the app (learn how and why on our blog: https://medium.com/lumio-blog/we...).
lumio is a chrome extension and a web app with Slack integration now. It aims to be Pocket, Evernote, bookmarks and clipboards, all in one, your all-round private and professional research assistant one day. See short intro video here:
@ddulic92 They will arrive in the coming weeks. We're planning a freemium product. Premium features will support teamwork, customization as well as lots of data export options.
I'm happy to see lumio on ProductHunt. I use the app for content research almost every day and I really love it. Highlighting makes my research process so much easier :) Congrats @attilagajdics
This looks really cool. I currently use Pocket to save all my articles to read when I have time. Does this play well with Pocket (both web version and mobile)? It would be awesome to be reading an article in Pocket and be able to highlight to save a snippet using Lumio.
@nick_neuman Thank you! A mobile app is still ahead of us (arriving very soon), but you can already use lumio's own reader view to read articles saved with lumio, as well as articles from which you've saved anything with lumio. An integration with Pocket is in our plans.
Totally love lumio, it's awesome to keep track of assessments you're making of a text. I use it all the time when doing research for content marketing at our startup. I used to do this with Google Docs but those docs were just a mess that made the work all the more inefficient. I featured Lumio in an article about best Chrome extensions about two weeks ago!
Seems like a cool tool! Unfortunately I'm not a Chrome user... Any chance for a Safari extension or bookmarklet or just the possibility to add links manually? Thank you ;)
@skankinpenguin Thank you! :) More browsers will definitely arrive soon. You can already add your own notes to collections as note cards and we'll consider various other similar solutions if they fit the product well.
@attilagajdics Sorry, me again. Am I missing something? How can I add cards? Everything I see when logging into the app is this: https://cl.ly/061C3v1J3n24 Thanks for helping me out! :)
@skankinpenguin You'll still need a chrome extension which allows you to save stuff which you can then organize in collections together with your own notes. It may sound a bit complex, we'll see if we can make the app available for Safari users earlier :)
@attilagajdics I tried several time highlightning within pdfs with the context menu but lumio doesn't pop up and store the highlight... win 7 chrome version 58
@dimitriblock The pdfs were opened from the web? At the moment the app manages only such pdfs. When you highlight in a pdf, click the yellow save button in the top left corner. If it still doesn't work, pls send me the links, we'll check them.
I already loved the idea when you guys were still developing it as Candy, coming back to it from time to time to see whether you're planning to make extensions for other browsers... Any chance for Firefox? ;)
