We are excited to announce Firesides on Lunchclub! With Firesides, you can learn from domain experts in a virtual session — think of it as an interactive Reddit AMA or Quora Session. Based on your Lunchclub profile and question for the host, you may get selected to join the panel discussion, or can watch along. The next Fireside is with none other than @rrhoover this upcoming Friday! Sign up to ask Ryan your product questions here: https://lunchclub.ai/fireside-ryan

Can you increase the selection to more than 3 objectives during signup?
Vladimir Novakovski
@kleaklass This is an intentional product decision, since if you have too many objectives, that's less signal. But we hear you!

Pretty cool concept! 👏 Can you provide any insight into how you implemented your AI to match users with each other?
Vladimir Novakovski
@antdke Here is an earlier Quora answer I wrote about this, https://www.quora.com/How-can-ma..., but thanks for flagging this -- we should explain it in more detail soon.

@antdke Also, this article by Fred Daso explains it really well, https://www.forbes.com/sites/fre....

👏🏾 Well done, team LC! I've attended three firesides so far and can attest they really provide an intimate and honest conversation with great guests. Excited for Ryan's this week!
Amit
Good idea. But, how is it different from Superpeer?
Vladimir Novakovski
@amit_bhalla1 Hadn't seen Superpeer before, just checked it out -- looks cool, but more like Earn.com or Clarity. Lunchclub Firesides are not paid and the reason the hosts do them are more (1) to help others (2) meet up-and-coming people in their field and (3) promote their brand to our broader audience. And, an important difference is that our Firesides are not 1:1 (our core product is 1:1).
Keith Lynn
@amit_bhalla1 Interesting. Could see Superpeer working well in the fitness space in particular. Though for startups, it reminds me of Clarity.

I’ve attended two fireside chats and was impressed with the caliber of guests. Lucy Guo has been my favorite so far- what a badass! Keep up the good work and thanks for bringing these discussions to your audience in real time!
Vladimir Novakovski
@alinatrach Great to hear! @lucy_guo we have gotten that feedback a lot about your Fireside, maybe you should do a follow-up one sometime!
Lucy Guo
@alinatrach @vnovakovski Aww thank you, y'all are so sweet. Vlad's done a great job bringing in high caliber guests. I'm excited for the next few. :)
Helena Ronis
Awesome!! I love Lunchclub, and Firesides is an excellent addition. Great job Vlad and team.
Helena Ronis
A few things to add @vnovakovski, in the UI of Firesides: 1. A sentence about what to expect next. For example: an email will be sent to you with the link to the livestream one day before the event. 2. Add to calendar feature. Both should be super easy and fast to implement ;)
Vladimir Novakovski
@helenaronis great feedback! On the calendar side, we do already do this, wonder why it didn't work? cc @jacob_willemsma2
Helena Ronis
@jacob_willemsma2 @vnovakovski I guess I didn't add to my calendar in the registration/confirmation page, so I went to the Lunchclub web app to find the event so I can add to calendar and the button doesn't exist there?

Wow, love the idea!!! Congrats

What a great way to engage your audience @vladyyordanov! Excited for #firesidefriday with lunchclub.
Vladimir Novakovski
@melissa_reffel Awesome! But I think you tagged the wrong Vlad ;)

Love your work @vnovakovski and team! I attended my first Fireside and thought it was brilliant. Lunchclub was already the future of networking, but now looks like they've extended it to panel discussions, too!

A much needed product in times like this

Good One.. Kudos Team...

I honestly think this is the future of networking given the current situation and changes that we have seen this year so far.
Keith Lynn
Enjoying these. Would love if there was a opportunity to network post the events in curated groups (in Zoom rooms or such like). Though I think that might be on your radar already.
Eliott Lee
Already been to a fireside and it was great! Looking forward to the next one.

Just upvoted :) 🚀

I may be in the minority here, but I've found the first 3 fireside chats to be really tone-deaf. Every chat seems to be a flex of the VC lifestyle and some self-promotion of the guest's own ventures. Perhaps setting and communicating out a theme to each fireside could help address this by setting expectations of what to expect and adding a little structure to the conversations?
Vladimir Novakovski
@daitee let us know if there are other hosts outside of VC and startups you'd prefer to see going forward! As far as themes, we have tried that before, but seems like it's better to keep it open-ended and let people talk about what's top of mind. Your point on structure is spot-on, we will soon have a clear playbook for the hosts and moderators to follow.
